I like searching for the loot bags. Besides, after you play enough, it really won’t matter to you if you miss some…. not sure what to do with 3000 badges anyway.

Devs have stated before they won’t put in a real autoloot system, I believe their reasoning had something to do with handling items when your inventory was full, but I don’t remember perfectly and don’t want to sift through thousands of dev posts to find a citation.
Just be glad it’s not like PvE and you have to actually go to your enemy’s corpse to loot it.
When your inventory is full you become encumbered and decrease movement speed. This could be deadly if you’re auto looting everything, hence… bags.

No it is not, I like it. And if you die you don’t deserve bags, it’s that simple.
I like lootbags, they make for nice screenshots and reward the person who wins the batlle. There won’t come a ‘put loot in bag’ function because the encumbered thing. And put it in your bank or what not, takes the pleasure out of it.
They wont chance the system and I hope they wont either.

Actually, what they stated was that they were initially worried about inventories getting filled up and that they also thought opening a bag gave a sense of discovery. They admitted that they didn’t give it any thought beyond that, and they said that now it would take more resources to fix than they are willing to throw at it. Stacking loot bags for later opening would have been the smart way to go, but apparently ANet isn’t motivated to do anything about it.

LOL. The time you spend running around collecting easter eggs is time you don’t spend helping your team, especially if they’ve run off to actually play the game. You have a weird sense of what “pleasure” is in PvP. Besides, like many others have said … ANet could have easily let loot bags autostack in your inventory until you had the opportunity to open them later.

I do think they should change the design a bit though – loot bags should drop on corpses and in return be automaticly picked up when you run over them. That way we keep loot bags, but avoid button spam.

I had the thought that instead of loot bags, all loot you earn should go to a personal chest at the spawnpoint of the BL – I think that would be neat.

The only gripe I have with loot bags is when I’m manning arrow carts, cannons, or ballista I can’t shoot and loot at the same time. Otherwise they’re fine.
It should just spawn piles of gold and treasure, so that by the end of your time on the superior ballista you’re buried under this mountain of gold, and your realm mates have to dig you out.

How about you autoloot WvW tokens, separate from the ones we have currently. You can then turn these in for loot rolls at an NPC which uses the loot generating RNG. You could adjust the amount of tokens based on the loot tables you would have been using before. This would automatically adjust token numbers based on any MF like the underdog buff.
You could even make classes of WvW tokens. Trash, Common, Uncommon, rare, etc. Based on what you would have gotten.
This allows you to still autoloot, avoids the encumbered, keeps the feeling of loot gambling, and lets you pick up the bags and not miss tons of bags. Because I’ve lost tons of bags in some winning fights because I was not willing to stop winning just to pick up my loot bags. It keeps the same exact rewards that way too.

For an accomplished PVP player… it’s no big deal… for those that are struggling… it’s another story.
I don’t think auto-loot is unreasonable…where it automatically shows up in your inventory.
Kinda petty to be honest. Autoloot isn’t going to make weak players stronger; but for a strong player to be against it…
Heck doesn’t even have to be auto loot, I would settle for area loot.
That reminds me why the hell is f used for all the crap in this game. I originally thought hey it will make it easy for the console crowd when it ports. But heck most console controllers have more buttons then you need for this game.

That’s a risk you’d be taking when you press the button to auto loot, and I would have taken it would’ve gotten me more loots than I lost by not having it, just don’t go running around with a nearly full inventory and you won’t have that problem.

Did you actually think before posting this? Because you are saying:
1) bunkers deserver their loot most (since they die least)
2) if you spend time attacking an enemy or helping a downed ally, you deserver your loot less than when you run around like a headless chicken spamming F

It’s half the fun indeed, but only when you don’t have to stop fighting to pick up the loot. I disagree with the drop on corpses though, that would make them unreachable sometimes.
I don t mind lootbags…what I mind is badges not being automatic and lootable. Most of the time I don t have time to loot the bags in big fights and thus I lose badges. I don t care whatsoever about loot or mats etc… Badges should not be part of the manual loot system and should be automatically added like kills or xp are.
This was exactly the reason I made this thread, I don’t care about the blues/greens either. And some people might say they don’t need badges, but what if ascendeds get added to WvW later? (which is not unlikely btw)

And this is why I usually don’t spam my loot key in siege. You end up using random stuff and that slows down your fight even more.
