Will Dolyaks be rewarded again?
It has been a while that I read about this, it is pretty important to escort dolyaks for a fast upgraded defence but no one wants to do that because they like the pain train more and its more rewarding.
Will we ever see a new feature for this? Because come on Anet, don’t let hackers win.. There must be something you guys can do
there was a response to this along the lines of the current system rewards based on being near the dolyak as it enters the tower/keep and they don’t want to increase rewards while it’s still possible to do nothing and earn them.
they are looking at changing how the reward is earned to make it less abuse-able before they revisit the actual rewards.
Hmm maybe add a bar that slowly fills up when you are escorting it. If you go out of range 1800 range or something, bar decreases.

might work. or check points along the dolyak path that you need to be within X range when it reaches each check point and rewards based on how many check points you achieved that trip.

During this heart, one of the possible ways to complete involves following a pack of 2 wolves and staying within a blue circle surrounding them. Something similar around a Dolyak, with 1wxp per second/2 seconds/3 seconds or something while inside the circle would be rewarding for people who run/escort Dolyaks, missing out on the Karma/Badge/WXP Zerg Train
A circle around the dolyak might be worth doing, and it could be given something extra. What i’m thinking is that the dolyak could get a buff for having a player in the circle.
For 1 player in the circle, the yak moves 1% faster
For 2 players in the circle, the yak moves 2% faster
…and so on and so forth up to 5% for 5 players.
Why only this much? Well you wouldn’t want a whole map of people all on one yak and send it scuttling up the road to get into a keep.
Come on, aren’t you guys sick of this. We all know that devon and his team isn’t touching this because wvw is one of the lowest priorities in the game. Just above the dungeon section and somewhere close to “world polish and runes/sigils/professions balance”. The answer is obviously 3 years later and possibly multiple dev personnel changes, we get a subpar fix on dolyaks.
12 months after launch and serious priorities like skill lag and hacks sort of proves itself.
