Your “legendary” are the titles that are already in place in WvW, those will stay and will be your legacy for being a WvW play through and through. Think of the new ranks system added as the “ascended” class for WvW and now everyone has to start from square one to obtain them.

You kidding, right? Current WvW titles are stupid joke, not some “legacy”. ~10 years of dedicated play for just ONE title.

So, for those of us who’ve literally been in wvw since pre-launch and spent 90% of our time there, nothing.
7 months, nothing to show for it.

oh come on, i’ve spent 7 months in actual pvp, you know, the thing they severed from the rest of the game like a diseased limb, if you feel unloved in wvw imagine how the Spvp community feel!
we don’t gain xp, we don’t gain gold, we don’t gain skillpoints, any armor or weapons we get will all have the same stats as starter gear and we can’t wear them anywhere else in the game.
we have one game mode and 5 small maps.
there is no goal, nothing to aim for, grind for 300 rounds to watch a 41 at the bottom of the screen turn into a 42 and then do it all over again.
when you leave wvw what are you? a lv 80 in exotics capable of enjoying the rest of the game and new content.
when i leave pvp what am i? a lv 2 in starter gear, capable of enjoying the starting zone.
the reward for thousands of hours of Spvp…

We use existing mechanics like player kills and event completions to award world XP, but it is an entirely new system with new pieces of data associated to it so unfortunately there’s no way to award retroactive progress.

EDIT: I should have mentioned that once this system is live, everyone will have access to both this new system and the existing achievement titles.

We will be keeping all the existing WvW achievement tracks and titles associated with them, along with the progress you have already obtained on those achievements. None of that stuff is going away, so you can still keep working on those original achievement tracks and titles (which are intended to be extremely rare and obtained over years of play).

Sorry I didn’t make that clearer in my original post, we will have a blog post coming out before the patch explaining this new system in greater detail!

This amazes me. Anyone who mostly plays WvW is probably poor and now also cant even get a title from spending hours and hours in WvW based on past gameplay. How rewarding!!!!!!!!
