I don’t think so. While they were fun, they also were extremely overpowered when all 3 where in the hands of 1 server. In addition, it invited a lot of hackers and exploiters.

The orbs should be returned as an objective in the BL’s, but they should not give stat buffs to the holders. This just created a snowball effect.

I’m sure they will eventualy but they need to solve two problems first
1) a way to stop the hackers before they can do damage. orbs are hard enough to capture without someone flight hacking and stealing it right out of your keep without even needing to fight.
2) come up with a set of bonuses to put on the orbs that do not create a snowball effect of overpowering the realm that holds them while still being enticeing enough that folks will make the effort to take/defend them.

Most likely we’ll see a solution to 2 that is along the lines of the old suggestion that was floated alot back when orbs were in, swap the orb buff with outmaned buff. Make holding each orb give 10% xp MF and karma and make it work in PVE as well and its worth holding onto them while not making the holding team unstoppable. I think this would be a kitten solution but it would get the job done. Personaly I loved the old DAOC system where the more relics(orbs) you held the harder it was to defend them but they would have to redesign the whole orb capture mechanic to make something that approaches that.

Disagree somewhat, many of the popular glitch points in the terrain have been removed in this recent patch.

But yeah in general, they don’t touch WvW.

Yea, I disagree with a lot of posts here too.

Bring them back the way they were. They gave a HUGE benefit so it forced all three servers to stop what they were doing and all three had to batle it out amounst each other.

You wanna stop the fly hackers from stealing the orb from inside the keep. The solution is EASY than. The Altar of Power cannot be attacked unless the inner wall/keep is down.

That’ll stop 99% of hackers.

Will they? Probably not. They quickly fix exploit type things but don’t really make many meaningful changes or fixes to WvW. The no reward from escorting Dolyaks has been removed since beta I believe and that was supposed to be a temp fix to the problem.

Should they bring them back? Yes Definitely. The old form made them to powerful to an already steamrolling server so maybe tone them down some but they have to be good enough they are worth fighting over. And make it so they can’t be glitched like before.
They were a great objective that made for interesting strategies at the start of the match and kept things interesting throughout the match in close fights. Until it became common practice to just glitch to steal the orb.

Go back and re-read how many patch notes have claimed the hills exploit is fixed … it still isn’t. How many months did it take anet to fix even a few of the exploits?
They never even attempted to fix orbs, they just removed them.
Outmanned buff is a joke, thats never been fixed or changed or anything.
Queue problems? yep they still exist since day 1.
Inconsistent siege despawn rates? Oh yeah that’s still there and even anet has admitted to it but not fixed it.
Culling has been an issue from day 1 but 5 months latter we get some half baked ‘fix’ that isn’t really a fix at all with the promise of more … someday … maybe … hopefully.
How about ascended gear? Three months after the rest of the game got it maybe we will, but still no promise, until this wvw patch comes I reserve my right to be skeptical.
Pve has had how many patches and updates while wvw will get its very first on in another month. Shows the priority anet has when it comes to wvw.
