With feature pack done, WvW optimization?

Make tower/keep walls thicker to more easily avoid AOE bombs when standing on them and using siege on them.
Make maps roughly twice the size of EotM without changing the current player limit per-map (meaning approximately 80 – 100 per server). Massive maps with few people will force teams to split up. One massive blob cannot cross the map quickly enough to effectively take the lead, meaning small groups would be much more logical.
Players respawn automatically after being spiked.
Allow commander’s a function similar to the “join squad” action, but instead allowing them to hide their pin from selected individuals. Also adding a feature which makes all siege placed by a commander glow a dim white, thus allowing those following to differentiate between which siege has been placed by the commander and which hasn’t.

Nothing substantial until after summer. Yes refinement from here until then. Anet works like clockwork so if anything expect 2015 for next major WvW content.
Since the WvW team is relatively small and works with a large amount of code (probably hundreds of thousands of lines), I have great respect for the developers working with that many lines of code. I wonder what it’s like to pre-alpha test various builds for the game and debugging the errors.
Sometimes a comma or semicolon in the wrong spot can be extremely hard to find and actually break the program. Its almost literally like looking for a needle in a haystack.
Guild Wars 2 needs a Public Beta Environment
The feature pack is implemented? 16th April where I am and seen no sign of it.
As for world vs world.
Promoting defense is a great idea.
Finding some way to balance the matches a little better.
Applying the out numbered buff to EB keep & the garrison on a sides BL. So they cannot be constantly flipped if any side lacks coverage, so sides have a foot hold in the game.
Separate commander tags for guild commanders & commanders leading the mixed groups/zergs.
Add more upgrades for doors so sides have an opportunity to counter insane golem rushes.
Get rid of pvd – only siege can do damage.
WvW optimization step 1: delete 3/4th of the NA leaderboard.
Let’s talk more after that’s done.

Improving the commander model, disincentiving Zergs and promoting defense would improve a core gameplay (wvw) that keep many of your players coming back to GW2. Without some vision and affection I worry that players will start moving to other games with large scale PvP options.

Start moving? Most of the dedicated players I’ve known over the years have already left. Many of our guild are playing sporadically and waiting for upcoming MMO’s that actually focus on PvP.

I guess the PvE players keep the gem store revenues up enough that they don’t care about WvW focused players leaving.
