World changes and fun in game play
Well they posted need to come back to home world weeks before they started to charge.
So you could get back for free…
Well I know some people can’t play more often and can miss update.
Beside I’m agree: make it payable after it was free for a while make us feel…umm forced? disgusted? sad? mad? etc
so not only you think about to move away.
in good news Tera is f2p now
The reason I think they did this was mainly because they had a big fluctuation of people moving around so often that when it came to WvWvW it was a server of 1500 people vs a server of like 700 (not real numbers)… but you get the point. They added the gem option so that you are forced to stay in one spot and stop moving around so much. Think about it in term of real life. If one city if overpopulated over another they are going to want to stop people from coming in so much making it unbalanced and therefore leading to a lot of problems in terms of money and in this case. Over powered servers of a lot of people in WvWvW vs under mpowered servers

I think that OP is adult so animu game probably isn’t option.

Okay take all the money you say you do not have that you will be sending Blizzard over the next year and buy your transfer gems. If you do the math, you might actually spend less to transfer. Come on man, I thought Holland has one of the best education systems in the world. WoW has a monthly sub, GW2 doesn’t. Do the math.

Tala, You’re right about the math. It is not about the money, I bought all these games and have no problem with that. It is about principles: I did not buy WoW in the first years because I loathed the monthly fee. But when GW became too difficult for me as elderly man and GW2 would take several years, I bought it anyhow and quite enjoyed it.
And now GW2 is out after a long time and a rough start and I enjoyed it very much, until I reached a level on which I can no longer compete without help, without dying very much. The thing is that without help from friends or family, i get stuck on the main plot and several skill point tasks…
That takes away a lot of the fun of playing, which I have as i play with my eldest daughter (who has the 80 level character and plays better than I). So, I like GW2 a lot, and the graphics are awesome, but to spend extra(!) money on a game that I can not really master, is asking a lot
(WoW is for sissies, so I can play that anytime, on sissie-level ;-)
Guesting? What is? I don’t know. The best of both worlds?

You can just “guest” back to your old world to do the PvE stuff that’s too hard for you.
Look it up.
I really can’t understand why you’re upset, they told us BEFORE RELEASE that it was going to happen when they got “guesting” working.
This is the way it was supposed to be at launch but they couldn’t get the guesting system working right in time so they made transfers free till they fixed it.
Also, I think you are EU, but if you are not, I’ll offer to guest to your world and teach you how to play easy. This game is not hard at all. But if you don’t think about it too much it can have a high learning curve.
Best Wishes

See Opazed, there are solutions for your issue. Also, please do not play the “old” card either. First, it does nothing for the wisdom you have, which you earned. Try to keep it positive. Second, my buddy, whom is a 56 yrold, has a top 100 arena 3s team in WoW. So if that old fart can figure that out, I can guarantee you can figure out PvE and guesting in GW2. Seriously, I hope you stay here. Much better game. I hope you have all the fun deserve. Take care.

You don’t have to buy gems with real money. You can exchange in-game gold for them on the currency exchange at the trading post.
I don’t know how guesting works but that’s your best option. Besides, SFR also has PvE guilds^^
You can’t guest in WvW tho, so my advice would be to ask around for an invite to SFR (Seafarer’s Academy) or a WvW-driven guild. Also, you should join our website (www.pevepe.net) and TeamSpeak3 server
Wow Opaze, are you seeing all this help you are getting from your GW2 community…I betcha no one playing pandas would help you this much!!!

Haha, Tala made me in a good mood again. thanx for that. Guess there is nothing to do than guesting my way through the hard parts or paying up to get an easier access to help when i need it.
And yes, I can probably learn how to play the game better, when I put my mind and money to it.
Still feels like I have to choose between my youngest daughter playing with her friends in England and my eldest daughter playing here in Holland with al her friends here. And they left me in Harwich when the boat left for Holland…
I missed the time slot (and yes, I was warned) and kind of expected it to be like the old GW, where you could just skip to another world to play with the friends there online.
Still think this decision is a mistake of ArenaNet and this will really loose them more players like me, who will not discuss it, but just leave. But at least I will try to make the best of it; whether by guesting of paying up. (don’t think the gold exchange will help me, since at level 44 I still have not one gold…)

I guess FAIR is to let people come back to home world like few weeks after update too, not all of us play non-stop.
I guess it personal how and why to spend money, even for games.
I guess GM can make commercial action and bring poor guy back to his home.
But may be I guess all wrong and here we have a case when gamer comes on last line…
