Would not pay 5 more cents for this game
every server has siege trolls, its unfortunately a fact of wvw, you cant ban people for using supply even if its for troll purposes, much as I would love for them all to be banned myself, you cant ban people for being a jerk

I remember that a dev once responded to the accusations of siege trolls never being punished to effect of ‘people have the right to play the game as they wish’. And that was that.
How people ‘play’ is definitely a matter of opinion and perspective, but there should be a line drawn somewhere, and I would say siege trolls are across that line.

Being a jerk is one thing, but the actions some of these ‘jerks’ take are rather extreme…there is a difference between placing a Ballista at an enemy gate and maxing out your Keep’s siege limit with Rams and Ballistas.

and if you encounter dirty tricks you think are coming from your opponents, well welcome to t1, we in SoR had to deal with this constantly, TC wanted t1, well…its what you have to put up with…

If I was a competitor of Anet, I couldn’t think of a better way to sabotage their wvw business then by hiring some temp and paying him to be a siege troll.

Unless some imbecile 1st year lawyer from a tier 5 law school drafted the EULA, it should be easy to ban somebody for being a siege troll. They can certainly ban somebody for “being a jerk”. It is up the them to define what being a jerk is.
If they catch you then they catch you and that should be it. I mean if this is a real war simulation you have to give people the ability to defend against it. We need a legitimate way of dealing with it otherwise its just going to make a toxic atmosphere.
you cant ban people for being a jerk
And yet when you read the first part of Anet’s Rules of Conduct for this game…..
While playing Guild Wars 2, you must respect the rights of others and their rights to play and enjoy the Game.
Yup one person is able to ruin the game for dozens, if not a few hundred when you count all players over all BLs, fun! And yet they do not consider it a breach of this rule!
This one person could do more damage to the game than a gold seller, yet they are allowed to carry on under the statement from a mod who said they cannot control how people play the game.
Well how many people do you think have left due to this sort of tactic?
This is going on right now. They even use a macro to get supply before anyone else can as it respawns so it effectively makes it so you cant use the camp.
Incompetence to prevent that behavior still making people to quit the game Good job Flashbang, bad job Anet

Your comment makes no sense, there have been siege trolls outside of t1.
It’s TC so maybe he’s just role playing as a ballista manufacturer. Nothing wrong with RP. Don’t hate.
Also supply mastery =/= macro
Siege trolls are just excuses TC and JQ comes up with for losing season 3. They know the tourney is already decided with this much lead against them in the deciding week of the tourney, and already coming up with a way out. Besides, how many hardcore wvw guilds are left on JQ and TC? ones that can field 20+ and actually fight for ppt and sever pride? just pure pubs most of the time. And the quality of TC and JQ pubs are getting lower too, probably because of them appearing not full during various part of day and received a lot of lower tier transfers.
Seriously, stop complaining and go play Archeage or something, its not like TC and JQ can win this tourney even if they try try 2v1 again…..lol. Its not like season 2, its already too late.

So since you’re being a willing volunteer armchair lawyer, can you objectively define “siege trolling”…
1.) without specifically calling out an individual
2.) making sure innocent players do not fall under this definition
3.) ensuring a group of players (e.g., raid group) cannot grief an individual for not conforming to that group?
to be faceroll at the high levels, because it
needs to be accessible to the casuals and bads.
These are desperate kids that can’t go without their virtual prizes.
If we had more active anet involvement policing wvw in real time, it would be a lot cleaner. You make a tournament with prizes, you gonna get this trash behavior from no lifes where gw2 wvw ppt is their life.
WvW has never been about fair and clean competition. Anet made big mistake making rewards server wide instead of individualized. It would go a long way in not encouraging these trolls.

This is the only post you’ve made on the forums and it’s completely irrelevant to the topic. gr8 b8 m8

They don’t have to “objectively” define it for you. Who the heck are you? This isn’t the Civil Rights movement. They can interpret it internally.
But how’s this: Any player who intentionally and deliberately acts against the interest of their server by spamming unnecessary siege and/or ordering unnecessary upgrades.
You may argue: But what about this case? You can’t define it objectively? It is not perfectly clear.
My response: Have you ever read a statute? They are often open to interpretation. Otherwise there would be far less lawyers in the world.
Judges make interpretations all the time. Anet can do the same. Besides, they only need to penalize the most egregious cases.
snip
Do you remember Boss Blitz? How the optimal strategy was to take all bosses to 1% before killing them all together?
If someone purposely killed a boss would that be grounds for action? If someone did it repeatedly would it be grounds for action? If so, why?
Because they were not playing to win? Can we then ban people who GvG or roam, or anyone who is new as well?
Because they didn’t respect the wishes of the majority? Can we ban defenders in EotM then?
This is the big question: what rule are these trolls breaking?
Have you ever read a statute? They are often open to interpretation. Otherwise there would be far less lawyers in the world.
More relevant. I have little issue with wanting to punish siege trolls, but taking action on people who are not breaking any rules is a far worse idea. The fact that no rules may have been broken is a sign that perhaps some rule may be needed.
On the other hand…if they’re using macros to deny supply (as I’ve heard mentioned), punish that. If they’re automating their actions, take action on that.
