A lot of people play games to win, and win overall. It would be stupid if an nfl player only played to sack the quarterback without caring if his team wins the game or not. People’s commitment is huge in gaming and we hear of sleep deprivation and 12-15 hours per day played because of this will to win.

Suggestion:
1. Allow each player to have a secondary W3 server they can represent but it has to be one from the opposite time zone. I.e one NA and one Euro.
2. Between the NA and Euro servers only have W3 active for 13 hours in each 24 hours at a time obviously setup to cover 24 hours and with 30 minute overlaps each side.
3. Make it so you have to represent your home or main w3 if it is available.

This could be the solution Anet has been looking for to be fair to all and breath life into W3. Think about the benefits to alleviate the problem of night capping, server balance, importance to upgrading structures and most importantly make W3 more about skill than coverage.

Nobodys time would be more valuable than anyone else’s and before anyone whines about ping, it’s a small percentage of people that play off hours and go cry to the Aussies that have to put up with 300-500 ping no matter what mmo they ever play.

Wonder if I could get a response from Anet on this? Also yes I am available for job opportunities Anet.

Would you really want to represent a different country in the Olympic games?

If the country i represented could never versus mine, i totally wouldnt mind.

If my play time split the overlap or i was playing in odd hours and wanted my w3 fix I cold jump in and play on another server if that’s all I could get.

So we who are nightowls should get locked out of our game because… of what? That people with “normal” lives should not have to cry about the game moving on without them while they sleep?
I am sorry, I’ve always been a very night active person, if ANet would lock me out of WvW at night I would probably cry AND leave the game and never buy anything from ANet again. Not that they care I’d only be one person, right?

Um, the solution has 24 hour W3 coverage for everyone. How do you see a lockout?

If the timezone didn’t cover the majority of your playtime I assume your guild would relocate to the servers that suit your playtime most.
