Yea some of the achievements are pretty stupid ridiculous… but then i remember the hell it was to get my combat healer title.

True combat healer was a bit much, but it was inside the realm of possibility, many heart missions you can revive people, dungeons people go down a lot…camp jormag (before they nerfed the chest) You got atleast 20 revives easy from noobs on the hill. So that wasn’t to bad…now the WvW achievements takes years to complete.

Yeah I tracked some of the wvw achievements yesterday. Most of them came as 0% completed even though I’ve played WvW since a couple weeks after launch. It is just unrealistic!

Anet is already aware of a lot of the players complaints about the titles, and have said that they will be looking at them.

Does anyone else think the WvW achievements are a little…excessive?
Yakslapper (the coolest title ever) Requires some huge amount slain, (I heard 1,000,000 killed) One for escorting Yaks is like 500,000. The King of the Castle 25,000 times.I don’t think a lifetime achievement should actually take a lifetime to complete.
Worst thing is – you aren’t even a yakslapper when you get your title eventually. You are Ultimate Interceptor or something like that…

We are actively working on addressing this. It takes more time than you might think, however, because we also have to make sure to have a solution that doesn’t mess up people who have achieved titles already.
To me they should bring back the old GW1 tiered titles system, where you had a long term goal (like R15 of HA, achieved by 10 or so hardcore pvper in the whole game) but making titles off the minor tiers, with a small number to help distinguish the rank.
So, you could have Yakslappers as very long term final title, but making avaible to expose the lower tiers like (supposing final title is rank 10)

-Yak frequenter (3)
-Yak blablabla (4)

.
-Yakslapper (10)
So you have a title to show off while you’re working on the final goal. Worked great on GW1, where maxing out a Pvp title was nearly impossible (as said, 10 ish players maxed out HA one in years of game), like actual WvW achievements, but you could show off how far you were on the long term title achieving.
Most used: Guard/Mes/War/Nec/Ele.

Yeah I don’t think i’ll ever achieve any of these WvW titles (even the 250,000 invader kills one). Even though I’ve been playing since launch I still have yet to pass 5k!

I can’t tell if the original post was being sarcastic or not. In either case, Combat Healer was ridiculously easy to get. I’m pretty sure it only took a couple weeks of casual play at launch to get it. Between rezing all the other newbies and the NPCs at Hearts/DEs, it certainly didn’t take very long.
Generaly WvW achievements in my opinon are the best. Hard and/beacuse long Like I remember GW. In PvE should be added more achievments in WvW-stlye.

Lol, Someone has yakslapper???? If you killed 100 yaks a day it would take 27 years.
I have a hard time believing anyone has any of those achievments.

WvW achievements are just fine, they might look insane for some people but not so much for others, anyway it’s just numbers, titles. No big deal.
I thing the Dev’s are taking every single complaint to address it for fixing, that’s great but it takes time for each one, the time that might be much more useful to put in something more important, more needed for now.

Untimate dominator – 250k kills – 500 kills a night = over 1.5 years
Ultimate fabricator – 2500k supply used – 300 supply used a day – over 22 years
Dominator is probably the most likely to get the others are just ridiculous. I could see that being almost reasonable. Most people get no where near 500 wvw kills a day. I would be really amazed of anyone killed more than about 10 yaks a day and used more than 250-300 supply a day.
I also agree this should be low on the list but they are by no means fine.

Except it is physically impossible that anyone has any of these achievements/titles yet (which is the problem).
It’s to the point where if they were scaled back 100x it’d still take a lot of commitment.

If you started today, killing 10 yaks a day, every day, you would finally achieve the yakslapper title on monday, april the 11th 2287, which coincidentally is the 300th anniversary of joss stone’s birthday.
If you started today, killing 100 yaks a day, every day, would eventually achieve the yakslapper title on sunday, the 11th of November 2040, just in time for remembrance day.
if you started today, killing 500 yaks a day, every day, you would quickly achieve the yakslapper title on monday, december the 17th 2018, I’ll only be 28 going on 29 by this time! Maybe I’ll have kids and a yakslapper title.

Season achievements were probably meant as replacement but that doesn’t excuse why the old ones aren’t, then, just removed. Or fixed for that matter.

11 months, yeah that’s more time than I’d think it’d take. In fact it’s about 10 months more than I’d expect.
Have people actually achieved these titles already? let alone back when that was posted? If so bravo to those guys.
Just change their titles to be “supreme yakslapper” for getting it before, then put in a completely fresh set of achievements that are for the normal titles. Ones that are actually obtainable with a reasonable playtime.
I realize programming this stuff and organizing it and all that isn’t as easy as some may think, but 11 months?

Yea rly 11months? Devs dont you feel ashamed? Impossible ranks with minimum reward … for jumping i get in one day more achivements than for the xy days i spend in wvw …

I can confirm, they did say they were actively working on it over a year ago. In fact Devon himself was kind enough to take some time and respond to this very thread 11 months ago stating the exact same! I would like to thank him once again for making time for us lowly WvW players.
Even one of the latest posts by a mod (thread now deleted) clearly states that they are working on other pressing matters.
So please be rest assured that more Living Story is coming very soon!

I think they are pretty modest relative to GW1 achievements. They are intended to be long term goals. Tournaments provide quite a bit of points in the short term. I think it’s also disingenuous to imply they neglect WvW when they not only made EoTM to address player concerns but allowed members of the community to test it in an open beta.
Can’t say the same for PvE content, a lot of which may have benefited from similar testing…such as the Scarlet finale, which was riddled with issues on live. They also made significant adjustments to tournament achievements the second time around, to the point that some may be a little too easy to max, especially via EoTM.
I’m not saying PvE is neglected either, but as a PvXer, I think people need to remember the grass is not always greener on the other side. Some of us play in all three yards, and see this for ourselves.

I got introduced to wvw recently but im happy to see that, after all, im not the only one finding the numbers on those achievs ridiculously high.
I’ve been doing some calculations, if you where to persue your Ultimate Conqueror title (1.000.000 objectives taken) I think the most perfect way of doing this would be to have a neverending (2 years straight) capathon around your own third on EB including SM.
One round of capping your corner would give you the following:
2 camps
3 sentries
4 towers
1 keep
1 castle
This totals in 11 objectives each “lap”. Wich would result in you having to do 90909 laps for the title of Ultimate conqueror. But to for good mesure and getting the keep achievemnt we would do 100.000 laps (becouse who doesnt want to max their respective titles for objective, camps, towers, keeps, and castles in one go)
So we do 100.000 laps around this course. For this to be as efficiant as possible we only want the titles on 1 person meaning we have 2 mapzergs from 2 serves cooperating around the clock. Mesmers portal the player around the course, while others just stand in towers flipping them back and forth, giving the lucky Ultimate Conqueror to be a chance to tap the lord/supervisor/sentry before every cap.
The best time for one lap would probably be around 11minutes because of buffed lords and cap times.
that would put the total time required for this at about 763 days of 24/7 perfected karmatraining.
Rewards:
Not only would you be getting:
Ultimate Conqueror – 1.000.000 objectives
Ultimate Raider – 100.000 camps – 200.000 total
Ultimate Aggressor – 100,000 towers – 400.000 total
Ultimate Subjugator – 100,000 keeps
Ultimate Liberator – 25.000 castles – 100.000 total
but also a whopping:
2,73e10 XP = 107.633 skillpoints
410.000.000 Wxp = rank 82.000 (you would get The title of supreme ruler of guild wars)
697.000.000 karma = You are definitely be higher ranked then god when your reborn
331.000 gold from caps alone.
600.000 champbags.
So who’s up for the ultimate, biggest, greatest Karmatrain in guild wars history?
PS: to fuel this thing you would probably need to pay ppl to help you out so you need to pay 160 ppl for 763 days which is right aroud 3 million work hours at about 10 Euros an hour your looking at about a 30 million Euro investment.
If your lucky with champbags and convert karma, skillpoints and everything else to gold and then pay your workes in gems you may actually break even (havent done any numbers though)

To the people doing all the necroing, I salute you. I really wonder what the devs think seeing their own posts and assurances with a year long gap in between. Probably the higher ups still don’t see it as profitable to invest in wvw, which quite frankly makes me wonder if I should stick to the project or start looking elsewhere.
I love the concept of this game mode despite the bugs, I’m an avid WvW player since day one, but the execution is failing – the time the developers had to improve the situation was misused and the content provided turned out to be mostly a flop, think Tournaments and EotM. I’m sad that mot of my friends with whom I started off playing left for other projects, taking their money with em. Money that will not be spent on improving WvW or GW2 and Anet/NCsoft have no one but themselves to blame.
