This may have been discussed already, but it appears unlike previous tournaments if you even miss one week of WvW you will not get the tournament title?

Seems like a good idea for achievement design.

Yes, you need to do 5 WvW-events each week.

Yeah I was pretty miffed about this too when I missed the 1st week due being away on a family emergency and upon returning, realized there was NO way I could make that week up. Give me additional achievements I could perform to add to the meta or something. ANet was lazy about setting up these achievements and that’s pretty unfortunate.

I agree that this set-up was pretty ridiculous. If you could get online that week you could do the achievement in about 3 minutes, if you couldn’t then you missed out completely.

On top of which you can only collect your rewards during the following week, so if you miss the 2nd, 3rd or 4th week you’re losing out twice – you can’t collect your reward for the previous week and you can’t do the achievement for that week.

I didn’t hear about the first tournament until it was a week and a half in because at the time I didn’t play WvW (the tournament is what got me into it) and if I’d discovered it existed only to find missing one week meant I couldn’t complete the meta achievement I wouldn’t have bothered at all.

(On top of which if it had the same achievement system I probably would have decided the best way to do it is to find 5 PvE achievements in the Borderlands well away from the zergs and never actually gotten into playing WvW at all.)
