WvW Add/Change Suggestions
I like 2 and 3, though I would probably suggest making desparation bonus a combination of map control and player numbers.
Not sure if 1 helps (I saw someone today who claimed he wouldn’t upgrade our keep because ‘a noob guild’ had claimed it, because apparently he was sure that that guild wouldn’t upgrade it either. I understand being annoyed for other reasons, but this didn’t really make much sense to me. Maybe someone can enlighten me ).
The problem I see with upgrading is not just that it costs your money for little direct rewards; it is also that there appears to be no extra incentive to then defend that location for the other players (apart from, well, losing the location in the first place). This is especially true for camps; so maybe, in addition to 1, locations should also be worth more points or something.
Well for 1, it is just a bit more incentive that should have low impact on badges as a pvp currency.
I think gates need to be buffed up, or rams need to be toned down. It’s way to easy to capture towers and keeps by dropping 2 or 3 rams and breaking down reinforced gates in under a minute. There’s just not enough time to get marshal a defense.
Also, Mendon’s Gap in the Eternal Borderlands is hopeless. No way to defend that one at all. Between the thin walls, and that little slope NW of the gate that allows for a ballista to sweep away all defenders, there’s no way to hold it.
Well yes and no. If you have good map awareness and scouts properly set up, you can tell when an incoming attack is going to happen and with that make a proper response. But since scouting at the moment returns 0 profit for the scout, this is why I feel an npc should be able to be setup in some way to do it for the players.
