Hi,

I returned to GW2 after a few years away and am wondering about player activity during the Asian time zones (late OCX to East Asia) are dead. I’m on BG and even that appears quiet.

What are the experiences of players on other servers such as JQ, FA, DB etc? Is there WvW activity in the sense that there is a decent amount of players from both sides as I am considering the possibility of moving to another server just so there are people to play with and against

Hi Ben,

There are a number of guilds which run at that time zone. English language ones are largely Singaporean or Philippino, but are a lot of good fun. There’s always at least one blob to fight, whichever server you’re on… but you’re rarely going to find anything more than one map queued (usually EB).

I would’ve certainly expected to see at least some in BG. Maybe asking in /team would get an answer – they might just not be running on that particular day.

Otherwise, I know for a fact there are some on FA, DB and JQ as I’ve found them quite recently. Maybe someone from those guilds might get in contact with you via this thread, or try posting in the ‘looking for’ section of the forum.

Probably because it is the end of the week and BG has a giant lead, try again on the weekend because they have a large sea presence.

If you want fights, pick a server not BG/DB/SOS (think this more ocx than sea though) for sea.

Hi there,

If you would like to see real time the actual activity of ALL servers during all time zones you can see what days they are more active than others and if you need to move servers you can find that one will be more suited to the time when you can play there is a website you can go to.

Some guilds run tagless because they are not pugmander guilds so prefer to only run with their guilds and run specific builds. Other guilds don’t mind if pugs run with them so that could be a reason you see lack of tags but not necessarily lack of activity. Also some guilds are only weekend guilds or run only a couple days a week but the activity break down of this website will help you out for sure!

Anet has added other things that have been needed in wvw so hopefully one day Anet will officially integrate these stats into the wvw aspect of this game but until then this is a great website and kudos to the people who maintain it!

Simply go EU. Its kinda alive from 1 pm GMT onwards with queues in T1-t2. So thats like your primetime + EU prime (7-10 PM GMT) is not that late for weekend (around 2 AM Asia), better than playing at NA during morning

Theres 1 Thai guild (Ng) on Gandara and 1 ex-NA eu timezone server (Kazo) on vabbi already. Also if you had chance to follow Iron Triangle on NA, they’re also back on EU.

As I am aware, Asians like more agressive gaming (seen from games like LoL and Pubg), and NA likes siegecamping and upgrading SM t3, EU might even be better for you valuewise.

Anyways NA has more PvE guilds raiding on Borderlands and in EU you generally run only 1 tag on map thats open for pugs so its different community and you will have issue finding a decent commander unless youre willing to join voice comms (ts/discord)

Is there any place that I can find out information about OCX/Asian guilds currently residing on the EU servers and how active the servers are throughout the day?
Information about the EU servers and their guilds seem pretty hard to find on these forums and most are a few years old.

BG shouldn’t be quiet unless they are running tagless.

SEA/OCX guilds rarely play on EU servers because of the high ping, easily exceed 300.

What is your actual timezone?

My actual timezone is GMT+10, but sometimes I play way into the the GMT+8 and +9 timezones, hence the reason for trying to find servers/tiers with more activity during this stretch.

A bonus would be to find battlefield guilds that are just out there running for fights, not interested in PPT. I miss the old days of zerg busting with Jang Gun; he’s not planning to revive WM anymore.

BG should have population during SEA, try seeking them out.
Otherwise, there isn’t a lot choice given that a lot of servers are full.
You only option are the non-full servers.

Among the “Very High” servers, only Dragonbrand and Henge of Denravi have SEA guilds.

Of course, if you are open to transfer to guest servers, you will have a lot of choices. Most host servers will have at least one SEA guild.
