Anet needs to take a look at the Sorrows Furnace Henge of Denravi and Northern Shiverpeaks Eternal Battleground Sorrows Furnace controls the whole map its not because there better its simply because they have more people now what they can do to help fix this is give losing servers an advantage so they can fight back for example buffing there stats siege weapons require less supply to be built another thing that would work sever alliances If one server has a clear advantage allow the 2 losing servers the option to join forces and fight back as it stands now WvW for these servers is broken Sorrows Furnace has had the advantage for 2 months now because people keep server hoping I don’t know if other servers are experiencing this but it needs to be fixed asap.

The option of the two “losing” servers joining forces is there… but that’s rarrely how the metagame works out. In this case, HoD decided early in the matchup to play for second place so NSP has since been showing them the errors of their way.

and now HoD apparently decided to stop playing altogether.

I have played a game in the past with a three faction, and a four faction pvp scenario.

The first version did not allow for any type of formal truce which was the three faction version while the second did have a formal truce option.

There were some advantages to having the option but it also created an imbalance because the factions under the truce had the higher numbers overall and as new players joined the game they also opted to be on the winning side more often than not.

Now and then the truce would be broken and the inevitable lopsided war carried on with one side being largely out numbered yet again.

This type of structure in pvp will never ever be perfectly balanced especially when you have 24/7 world wide coverage available.

Buffs, boosts, and fixes of this nature will not improve the very simple problem at hand. You have a low population and fewer players enjoy playing at a disadvantage let alone on a losing team.

A possible solution would be to limit the number of enemy players onto a map while the other two sides are fewer than say ten players. This would lead to the larger, third server eventually losing people as well during their peak times and effectively punish them for having players. In my mind this seems counter productive.

A formal truce feature might work, but I doubt that Anet would re-code the WvW system in order to do this and while it might solve the immediate problem of imbalance, it would most likely open up a new can of worms.

Trust me on this one, the server or faction that is formally under a two versus one attack does not enjoy this feature at all unless they are very equal in numbers or still have the greater number of bodies.

If I was that unhappy about how my server’s situation as far as WvW goes, I would transfer to someplace that better suits my needs.

I understand the loyalty factor and the community ties but in some cases you have to weigh the options and choose the path that gets you back to having fun and enjoyment.

I don’t think Anet is going to have a quick fix in the near future that will ensure those low tiered and low numbered servers can give the players what they need. In the end I suspect a couple of server merges will be the final solution as it would be much easier to accomplish and likely much cheaper as well.

Hasn’t SF only been in T7 for like 2 weeks? How’d that get confused for 2 months?

They’ll likely move out of your tier in another week or two.

The matchup isn’t what I’d consider terribly lopsided in the first place. Don’t whine.

If you’re losing and you want an advantage, try getting better.

Also, please revisit how one makes a proper sentence. One punctuation mark in 9 lines of text doesn’t cut it.

We’re currently in week 3 of the match-up and SF isn’t going anywhere as long as the T6 scores keep stabilizing as they have been.

They need incentives for people to WvW. Sure you can get some loot and what not. But there’s no point in winning. There’s no point in people sticking around the whole week when their server is losing. If Anet introduced some point/some rewards (not LOL moar loot bags and LOL wxp) they might be able to bring more players into wvw and even tiers out more.

I think that what you see right now is the true WvW population. There’s been no major PvE content since fractals except SAB, which lasted less than a week. As for the incentive : Fun is probably the only one. The mentality around GW2 is do what you like, that why they dont strive to put more rewards everywhere.

There are viable suggestions in other threads. Such as 1 up 1 down, “seasons”, a playoff type system. Grouping tiers together and switching up the matches. Or my suggestion, manual intervention.

I know some say then there would be blowouts – kinda like there are now.

For example, I’m on SBI and I think it would be fun to go up against CD and one of the servers from the tier below us (EB, BP, AR) . Or SBI vs. two of the ones from the tier below us. I don’t think we’ve ever fought them. And I don’t think it would be a blowout. But we’ve never had a chance to see – and with the rating system creating the matches, we never will unless there are large population changes in the servers.

Or heck, SBI, Yak’s and SoS. For a week, it’d be fun to see what would happen.

I also think it would be interesting to see if it were possible to match servers by time zone coverage.

Include player kills as part of PPT and make points an inverse ratio of each server’s population in respect to total population of the 3 servers.

It’s at least a start to the end of coverage wars and the beginning of WvW in my mind.

including player kills in the score will only lead to match manipulation. There’s already enough problems with cross server spying/griefing and badge farming.. now we’d end up with a bunch of players sitting outside of spawn letting their buddies farm points off of them.
