Lets have a system that promotes a healthier Commander mechanic!

A Command Mastery Line!
5pt: All players in your squad gain +1supply / +10% Karama/XP/WXP/MagicFind/Gold
10pt: All players in your squad +2supply / +20% Karama/XP/WXP/MagicFind/Gold
15pt: All players in your squad +3supply / +30% Karama/XP/WXP/MagicFind/Gold
20pt: All players in your squad +4supply / +40% Karama/XP/WXP/MagicFind/Gold
30pt: All players in your squad +5supply / +50% Karama/XP/WXP/MagicFind/Gold

This would make a reason for players to join someones squad!

So we need more incentive for people to zerg? We need to find a way to move away from the 50-man zergball roaming. If anything needs to be encouraged, it’s small group play.

let them make a better commander system first. right now i see no point in joining or having people join a squad. /squadinfo is pointless as squad size is limited and if they’re not right there they do you no good anyway, and if you happen to be one of the unlucky > 30 ppl running w/ some commander then you’re heftd in the hey.

Squads have player limits. That aside, theres no justification for your position.

The commander/squad system needs reasons to be further utilized. Those reasons should not be monetary though imo- it needs a redesignf or better functionality. Allow commanders to change the color of their tags, allow commanders to see the make up of their squad in the WvW panel (along with their supply), and allow commanders a commander chat where they may relay info to anyone else tagged up on a map.

IMHO they should remove commanders altogether. It would solve SO MANY problems with the current state of WvW.

If it wouldn’t be solely used as a rally spot for unorganized players, many players on our server would tag up for easy and fast map-wide organization. Currently – even with voice chat communication – it happens far too often that groups run into each other. If you have several u-cakes on the map, you can spread out more / anticipate where your own group is needed.

Imho the idea of a “commander mastery” line is great, but the OP’s suggestions favour zerg-play instead of resourceful and organized gameplay. I’d welcome such masteries like:

- ~5 pts: access to /supplyinfo & /squadinfo
– ~10 pts: increased radius of /supplyinfo and ability to invite near players to your squad
– ~25 pts: access to alternative tag-colours / shapes
– ~100 – map-wide markers, visible to everyone
– ~200 pts: players in fortifications which your guild has claimed, gain a non-stackable +25 stat bonus to all primary stats and condi-dmg and healing power if you are near that structure and having a squad.

Thats a fairly unthought out response as the maximum squad size is 25 and this would make guys want to join a squad rather than just hang on the coat tails of a blob.
