WvW Confusion damage nerf
We should be demanding a total refund :@ all that gold (gems for gold in my case), laurels, karma ,etc, etc is now wasted….
The question I have is: are they even allowed to totally destroy something that we paid for with real money? :/

They have the right to take the servers down and never run the game again regardless of how much cash you give them. Its their game, and its in the agreement you clicked “I Agree” on in order to play.
I could live with this if I my two most played classes were not a:
1. Confusion Mesmer
2. d/d elementalistfml
Wait for the good players to find the next OP class/build and then copy off of them again. Shouldn’t take too long.

A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.
Confusion might have needed a small adjustment.
15% nerf would have been perfect actually.
It was not that overpowered at all, it’s just that 90% of the people only think of doing A LOT of damage in a few seconds, so it’s just really effective.
And to people complaining about a bus of glam mesmers I say: imagine a bus of thiefs, or condition necros, or aoe spamming elementalists. If a certain build groups together and are organized they will always look overpowered, but that’s their merit and has nothing to do with an unbalanced build.

Wait, you consider yourself a skilled player for applying a single condition to people over and over and waiting for themselves to attack themselves to death? Sounds to me like unskilled players are now being punished. I’d get your point about “1 condition removal and you’re good to go” if we could choose which condition to remove, but in WvW, you’re likely to have many conditions on you at once, and AFAIK, only necro, warrior, and guardian can remove all conditions at once. I just don’t get your argument.

Technically a necro could fear someone for at least 6 seconds by using 2 skills. How is that any different that confusion.
Same thing really, if you are feared for 6 seconds you will still get killed because you can not attack. Which is the same as confusion, can’t attack either die if you do or get killed. But wait.. Lets nerf mesmers.. Because the eles that can tank better then a guardian/warrior is completely normal for light armor.

ok u guys always say that glam mesmers need 0 skill? go play one and be successful with it we dont just spam and wait we are in constant movement and dodging as all of the glam skills have an enormous cooldown. before u accuse people of being unskilled players go check how we fight join a glam group and see for yourself. actually there are dps builds that are wayy easier to apply dmg with but we choose to use confusion instead and have like no other power appart from that.

^ +1 again. Very true and I’m still shocked that they nerfed confusion to be honest. Everyone says that the class they don’t use is OP. rmBossa and the warrior skills in group play are not OP? Or how about the invincible ele. Every class has an OP skill/ability thats what makes each class unique. If we keep getting nerfs everyone will eventually be the same class with different looks. Basically condition in general now is 100% useless, bleeds suck, confusion sucks , so everyone has to basically melee now. Necros use daggers if they are any good, eles use melee weapons aswell, guardians/warriors melee, rangers I’m not sure about, thieves etc. I don’t understand why I am forced to melee for any type of decent damage with casting classes. That was the selling point for me to use mesmer, the confusion condition build which was decent distance, but now I’m forced into melee play to be of any use. No other MMO is like that.

Actually people still confuse immortal ele in PvP with WWW ele that seemed to be mostly balanced/glass cannons.
But more than that They nerfed confusion wrong.
Issue is how easy is t apply that to a Whole zerg not the 1VS1 damage.
They still can affect Whole zergs along with necro…so they are still an issue for WWW
But on the other side they are crippled in small scale fights…

Why not limit it to 2/3 people per shatter, and/or make confusion not trigger when using healing/blink/stealth skills. It’s not very hard to balance it properly. Why dont they just deduct 50% damage in WvW from thieves/warriors/guardians/ele to even it out while they are at it lmfao.

I think the 50% nerf was a little too much, nevertheless, I’ll adapt. No point in arguing since it’s been already done, is it permanent, well, let’s just wait and see. If there’s anything good I actually learned in my gaming it’s that nothing is permanent, you just have to be flexible, that’s the name of the game if you want to endure. They destroy this build, let’s use another, and work/practice hard to master it. If you think about it, it’s exciting that way…it would have been boring if I used the same build for the next 5 years.
What I’m really sort of upset about is that I have to purchase gears again…and as a WvW player, I’m poor in terms of gold. I cannot purchase new stuff as I please, I have to farm it in WvW the slow and painful way…this being said, my mesmer is back in the bench and work in progress until maybe my Necromancer cashes in enough gold. Sigh

its not a shatter but that able to stack confusion on 80 players unlike other professions.
Mesmer were the post patch Arrow carts of today.
And with ele they plainly removed the class from WWW….

Again, read my post. Maybe limit it to certain amount of people at a time. Or make it not trigger on certain skills like healing. Sure 10-20 even 25% nerf is “ok” but 50%? Seriously? I ask for 50% damage deduction on other classes aswell then. Mesmers were not that bad when I was against them so I don’t know why you are complaining. I could complain about whatever class you have aswell, each class has its own perk over the others. But now it seems all classes are just basically dagger or sword melee zerk builds because anything else is just useless.
