Look. When I started WvW, my server (Maguuma) was pretty distraut. Constantly complaining about not being able to overcome larger numbers of opponents. This being about 20-30 Magummi VS 40-60 Other Server combatants. It took me some time to convince them that all they needed to do was coordinate better and be smarter. Once you break the back of the larger zerg force, less and less of them will continue to log in to play. By the end of the week the zerg sizes will be evened for us and at that point we’ll just stomp them with our superior play.

I lead along with several other tactically sound commanders around Eternal Borderland. We used evasion techniques, to lure our enemies into positions where we could engage preemptively. We withdrew early to force chase into areas where a counter-attack was in our favor. We specifically made longer routes to coax the enemy into sieges so we could bulldoze them out front. We did SO many strategically brilliant things that for that month we weren’t just top of the WvW, we had put into our troops a sense that we were number one and we could beat a massive red blob three times our size by just being smarter and doing more to win.

Now you ‘programmers’ and ‘developers’, I use the term loosely, come in and change the dynamics of large scale group combat. You say no longer can a smaller army defeat a larger army. In ONE FELL SWOOP you destroy our servers ability to survive and win a WvW week.

By this I’m talking about 10 to 5 aoe nerfs. Where before 20 people fighting 60 people could still target enough enemies to challenge them to not just be a blob of people and force them to use cunning and tactics, now is just a force of 20 people being outnumbered and outright killed by 60 people.

Theres no two ways around it anymore. You destroyed large scale combat in WvW. Since the change, my server has NOT WON a SINGLE WEEK. Theres just nothing 20 people can do to stop a massive blob of opponents anymore. Its not that they are better, theres just too many of them now. Our 20 people cannot even do enough to 60 opponents to make a dent.

And all of this rests on you idiotic idea to limit the amount of impact one player can have. No longer can 5 of the best pvpers on our server combat 20 of the worst pvpers in the game. They might have a luck of the draw chance to beat them if those 20 players are level 2 and super brand mew.

Please, you have to reverse your numbnut idea. A smaller zerg needs a fighting chance against a larger zerg in order for WvW to have any kind of future. Reverse your AoE nerf. Bring back our ability to compete with 60 freaking people who just have to log in to win WvW.

The AOE nerf is likely for technical reasons.

If they removed rezzing of completely dead, it’ll likely be a great help.

Anyway, the devs don’t appear to have any interest in this issue, and it seems most people have given up hope that they ever will.

Errrr… Have I missed something? What are you talking about exactly?
Its always been an AoE limit of 5 on most skills, arrowcarts being a [very] notable and strange exception.
