My suggestion; Restrict WvW queues to reasonable ratios between worlds. This will be better for the game in the long run.

Today I encountered something like 30-1 odds in; Devona’s Rest Borderland, Anvil Rock Borderland and Eternal Battlegrounds in the same half an hour or so.

WvW is quickly becoming another Queensdale. Players from heavily populated servers “earn” rewards with no risk whatever and simply run over anyone silly enough to resist.

I’m ready to walk away from WvW and GW2. A good fight is one thing. Being run over for the amusement of another server’s players is quite another.

I’ve been trying to get my achievements for a while too. Sometimes we have a group and when we stick together, just dominate… but no one ever goes to do the EotM achievements, especially the ones in the middle of the map. We usually linger off on the side stuff until some members of the group bugger off, and then we all end up screwed.

Every time I go over to do the achievements, I get brutally murdered by maybe 10+ people. I don’t see this changing any time soon, and it’s quite depressing.

I don’t think Anet intends to Gate people after all this time, or in other words stop people playing at times that they can play. wvw has never been a Fair and Balanced 24 hour war, if you don’t have the coverage or dedicated players as it is over here in the EU then you will have imbalanced match-ups with blowouts – even before the weekend is over.

There’s no point in worrying about about the Score/PPT, defending or upgrading structures unless you have the numbers to do that unfortunately.
Match-Ups are so skewed by Coverage and Population that it’s best to focus on when you can play up against Equal numbers. It really is best for your own sanity to do something better than watch as things get run over until the Train Stops.

You could look at wvw as Open World PvP Warfare with a touch of PVE, which has a rather ‘Casual’ Scoring system rather than a Competitive Scoring system which takes into account Coordination, Organization and Strategy rather than PvD.
I wouldn’t just blame EoTM by the way, it has it’s own issues and the novelty will wear off quickly!

it was no fun fighting you either… we went and did a pve night because there was nothing but pvdoor

legitimately no enemies on any bl except …maybe you and two other guys

with the constant indig uptick in EOTM along with these stupid ledges / turrets / npcs / siege everywhere it’s not very fun

I tried roaming and got hit by a bunch of zergballing :/

really really hope this isn’t how things stay because it will indeed be the end of WvW on your server and kain’s

Grav… its not that ANet doesn’t care about that. The true fact is that these first years (yes, years) of WvW will absolutely not be about that, and were never designed to be.

The scoring, by the way, is purely to sort the leaderboard and encourage the competition. When we perceive it as more, than that is on us, not ANet.

I feel your pain; match ups against servers 2 or more places higher turn out to be enormously one sided affairs. People get tired of the massive (do not log in) mismatches, especially when sides are 130,000 points a head half through the match & seem to go out of their way to kill the round completely. I am all for random matches, unfortunately it does not work without balance.
Heck the 16th ranked server is currently up against no.8
PvP can be balanced, why not the same for world vs world?

Maybe the out manned buff should apply to a garrison on the bl map and the keep on eb giving any side at least a chance to gain a foot hold back on the maps.
The attached screenshot gives a sample of what we face this week and no doubt other sides. 11 players decimated by goodness knows how many. Normally we face 5 to 6 times the amount of enemy in the screenshot (or more).

After playing in EoTM, I actually like the scoring in the Mist War. I feel a sense of purpose in regular WvW. I feel the competition, and the drive to win. In Mist War, I feel it is a karma train that has no meaning. The map is awesome, and I hope they bring some of those elements into Mist War. Since there is no real incentive to win (I don’t care about the supply drop, since you might only have 4 kitten people in your BL because they are all in EoTM), I have no real incentive to be there much.

After playing in EoTM, I actually like the scoring in the Mist War.

I argued this at length with my guild and server, too. It’s fairly disappointing that we had to sacrifice all server attachment inherent to the WvWvW format, to get the variety of opponents in EoTM which is essentially RvRvR, or RvGvB as I call it.

Guild agrees that we don’t care about the extra supply at all.

I have no real incentive to be there much.

I think that is the idea.

It fully destroyed DB’s already meager NA PPT for nearly the entire night.
