chopping wood one day, dropped a piece,
all I could say was, “…fell…foot…”

Hey, I just noticed that the Looking for another WvW Forum Specialist thread disappeared? Does this mean that they’ve selected another? Or does this mean that they’ve given up finding another?
Can I ask what a forum specialist did or do that was different from any other forum user?
I don’t have any info but that’s interesting. That thread is totally vanished.
I would speculate the former is more likely to be possible, as these things seem to be kept under wraps. It makes little sense to give up, since well, there’s no cost to keep it as is. I don’t think it’s unfair to place an inquiry on the matter though. Even if we accept the cynical scenario, it would still be more sensible to be pretending to be looking, I would think. A simple yes or no would suffice.
Whatever anyone does, don’t scare them away. =p I do welcome my successor or counterpart to contact me if they should have questions on the matter.
As for what FSPs do, they are mostly like regular users but with some extra tasks: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/news/Guild-Wars-2-Forum-Specialists-Program/first#post4600059
Guild Wars 2 Forum Specialists generally are asked to engage in regular active discussion with the Guild Wars 2 community at large on the official Guild Wars 2 forums. Each Forum Specialist should try to stay objective and impartial in any discussions about the game in order to provide high-quality feedback that represents the views of the overall community, rather than expressing the specialist’s personal opinions. Forum Specialists may make no promises—expressed or implied—about the relaying of information, neither that it will be relayed nor that it has been relayed in the past. Forum Specialists may not divulge information that they may learn about unreleased components of the game, such as upcoming changes or new content.
So basically, they should engage in regular discussion, but because this is a volunteer thing, it’s somewhat restricted by people’s time constraints.

With all due of respect, whats the point of having these so called forum specialists. It seems Anet can not be bothered with this sub forum in first place so they entitled some players meeting the requirements to do the kittenty task for them and again, without any results?
Yeah sorry, it’s my fault after I asked Gaile where the 2nd fsp was seeing as it had been over a month and we had not heard anything.
But I do love how they claimed this fsp thing was supposed to improve communication, when even archonwing cant get an answer from them!
I think all he has is an email address to send his report to, I bet he’s never got a reply back.

Honestly, that thread wasn’t maintained or structured very well, so that wasn’t very good.
And as for replies they do, but it’s nothing particularly exciting, mostly acknowledgements of receiving, but due to the sheer scope of things that they’re involved in HoT, I never really expected to see any changes down the line; it just seems slow in general and I didn’t have the FSP until June which by the time beta was coming out and I think by that point a lot of things were too late to go back on. It didn’t really help that I was probably the first actually active one to post around these parts so that’s to be expected.
Though I assume at least something was read— such as the siege master’s guide being able to be purchased as 10 or WvW gear salvage. Fairly noncontroversial issues I guess.
Also, it was my request to pin the borderland thread on top of the forums, because it would be “a highly important thread”. Now, whether or not attention is paid or not, I’m just going to leave to you. None of us here have any control over that.
