From the launch of the game to now, were the WvW expectations met?

Am I wrong to see it now as a larger version of the PVP meta game. Just everyone going clockwise on the map flipping towers for the most part? I’ve see a couple (2) ,defenses on Bay recently but then we already owned 95% of our borderlands and the attackers had no chance as we are able to port in for the block so easily while they were on outer gate up the hill.

I’d love to have an opinion on EB but since the season started I haven’t been able to access it at all. I try every day and wait for hours before giving up. It’s always full 24 hours a day. Maybe because I’m on JQ.

Am I missing some option here for getting better action? Another server? lowpop? where getting steamrolled might be a new experience. Hopefully there’s some middle ground.

Also I noticed alot of people I used to see are just not there anymore…frustrating.

You can transfer to the least coverage server and try to fight those mindless zergs from your original server and see how much fun you’ll get from it.

You definitely will get a different picture.
I’d rather be on the strong side so there’s more room for 1 v 1 roaming instead of constantly being chased by mindless zerg for hundred of miles. (They’re so bored that they’ll chase anyone they see for no matter distance as long as they can reach it.)

I’m having fun in WvW, so I guess that meets my expectations.

If you have high expectations, you usually get disappointed. I learned that a long time ago.

I am sorry to hear that your experience has been degraded. From my sources, JQ & BG had warchests to help WvW guilds transfer over to cover the time zones. That would been ok except that Anet decided to release a Living Story on the same day which drew in tonnes of PVE folks for AP. That itself caused a lot of queues on JQ, BG and SOR. Now with BG and JQ contending for No.1 I think the scenario in JQ will not change.

What might help is that you watch the PPT scores (of all the different matchups) during your prime time, if all 3 servers have roughly the same scores it means that it’s roughly balanced fight.

the real problem is that wvw for the most part has become stale, theres nothing really new to spice it up. Adding the middle part to the home borderlands was great and all but i hardly find anyone in there, its the same as running camps but without guards and no rewards.

The new map looks promising and hopefully itll spice things up, if they added more mechanics to regular wvw, im sure it would spice things up and break up these giant zergs…hopefully. More things to do at once and all that.
