While there was talking about the introduction of leaderboards I was very excited for it. However now I just read the news, it’s going to be updated once a week.

Is there any chance it will be updated realtime or at least every hour in the future?
Right now it’s kind of useless because we have MOS which is more accurate.

You are right, as it is now they are just useless. I was not only hoping for better / more accurate values, but also for something.. “more”. It’s just.. meh. Which server has more medals? Which has the best win streak? Which has more population?

The leaderboards are pointless, why would it not have a realtime score tracker. Leaderboards need a lot of work such as adding in
-Real time score tracking
-Most kills
-Highest WvW rank
-Who earned most points for server by guild
I’m sure there are a lot more things needing to be added but as it stands now, I don’t see anyone actually using this feature.

The WvW leaderboards are incomplete. Don’t get me wrong, server rankings are necessary, but what about players? Where are the leaderboards on top kills/captures/world rank/etc? Do we have to wait a year to see this?

I know there was a lot of work put into this system but wow…. All I have to say is this feels like a huge letdown. I was expecting something so much better. I mean for WvW players this tells us nothing we couldn’t have already found out via http://mos.millenium.org/matchups and while that might not be 100% accurate at least it shows a score update and predicted server movements.

I think a lot of us were at least expecting this whole WvW ranking system to be a viewable system. I know I was looking forward to comparing myself to others on my server and beyond.

My god what a letdown. It would literally take someone an hour or less of web programming to do that.

I think 99.9% of wvwvwer’s were expecting something completely different.. like personal ranks.. maybe even how well your guild as a whole was doing incomparison to other guilds.. ^ agree with all of the above.

Well i was just expecting .. you know.. actual player stats not just a server score

the server score is important i guess but we already get that every reset from Devon and company.

I was hoping to see alot more as well but i understand this is just an initial release.. but i am starting to worry because we are always just seeing “initial release” of these features and not many have been touched since they first were..

a few things i’d like to see eventually regarding players would be like most kills, highest level, and then some weekly stats on top of overall

Server leaderboards for WvW absolutely need the following information, and they need to update every 15 minutes in sync with the ticks.

• Current PPT for each server in a tier
• Current score for each server in a tier
• Projected score at the end of the current week based on current scores
• Projected placement at the end of the current week based on current scores

We also need a personal WvW scoreboard for the player ranks. That should be kept separate from the server leaderboards, however, but is equally important.

They couldn’t even put in real time WvW scores? Or at least updated every 15 minutes? Something? Why would I use this site instead of the french one?

Huge let down. It’s just pretty much the rating they update every week. Don’t even know why they added it.

They did say it quite clearly that the leaderboard would be just this at first. Anyone who was disappointed today obviously hasn’t been paying attention :P

That said I hope when they get to making more they implement leaderboards for death/kill ratio, most kills, most kills as certain classes etc etc. Basically I’m hoping to see all current WvW achievements become leaderboards and having secondary leaderboards divided by classes.

Well ofc they could go with ‘most kills where no one else even looked at your target!!’ too but WvW was built to be the large group battleground so there wouldn’t really be a point.

When I heard leaderboards I was hoping to see kill counts, objective counts, and siege weaponry damage counts and such for at least your own server.

It’s another way to get recognition within the server community and reward people, especially siege users and zerg busters. They could even add one for dolyaks escorted, too.

Oh well. Moving on.

This, the current leaderboard is useless cause we already get that information elsewhere.

Anyone who watched the March “State of the Game” video shouldn’t be surprised by this. They made it fairly clear that the WvW Leaderboard would only consist of the server rankings that were already published weekly, which nobody really looks at because the information was available days earlier via a 3rd party website.

They told us this…yet they went ahead and provided content we didn’t want? Double facepalm? Can you do better ESO developers? I’m looking at you.

Anet lacks so much confidences, its not even funny anymore.

They are so unsure of themselves about releasing patches or anything that they have to test and retest and what not.

I just hope they don’t put in anything related to your kill to death ratio, unless they take into account all the cliff deaths :P Maybe make a section on who’s #1 for cliff deaths in WvW?

Are you kidding? WvW ranks – you post them every week on forum,you hired a new guy to fill those numbers into other page.
Achivements- same, you got those numbers. Even filling them to Google docs will be better because you cannot filter it now anyway. How can i Find myself now? And other from my guild? What?
PvP – same problem like achivements,

Devs you disapoint me every month. You announce something and you release crap. Big PvE updates? Fail of Living story- 8 quests in 3 month. WvW update – remove culling introduce worse skill lags and some pointless WvW ranks.
And story repeats with Leaderboards. What were you thinking? It is useless when you cannot quickly choose your own profile. If You cannot filter it? You can not even sort it other way.

Forgot one thing. Only 100 records? You have Office student version that dont allow more than 100 lines or what?

I like it. It’s a nice start. But it lacks the WVW player information. Pretty much incomplete.

So far the only thing that hasn’t been a huge disappointment has been the culling fix… All my warrior changes have been terrible, ranking system is terrible and made the overall gameplay even worse because everyone zergs harder now than before. I’ve actually had to stop playing the game because of all this massive disappointment. And now this joke of a ranking system…. Fail.

WVW guilds and players need a place on there. Waiting almost a year for basic stuff like this is beyond words. And after the almost year, the third party version developed months ago is 100 times more useful than the in house version. Sigh.

Good to hear, but please consider adding the PPT information and having it update on the ticks as a high priority as well. We should not need to go to an external website to get this information when it would be optimal to get it right from you guys. I agree that rank information is sweet and important, but the server PPT information is up there as well in importance.

Totally agreed. I got pretty disappointed with the leaderboards they released. I was expecting much more.

I know it’s a work in progress, but if they can get it half as accurate and well detailed as the camelot herald was in DAoC’s hayday, I will be really really happy with Anet.

The Camelot Herald was the best and most informative MMO leaderboards of any game I have seen, It’s a shame the old herald is gone.

WxP earned by day, week, month, all time etc. etc.

Top Ranks, Top kills, Top Yak Smashers, it needs everything.

i am fairly certain, many servers dont have 1000 players playing wvw in the first place.
if they did, Anet would be paying way more attention to WvW.

Doesn’t that Vizunah guild [MOS] have a leaderboard type thing, with history and point ticks and everything on it.

The MOS WvW tracker relies on player-entered information and doesn’t provide any information that Arenanet doesn’t already provide either on the leaderboards or on the in-game WvW tab. It’s a good system, but Arenanet shouldn’t use it as a model.

I’ve never played DAOC but I really liked Aion’s character info. You could search and see every player’s gear, stats, pvp rank, total kills and past 24 hours and week kills. They also had each server’s Abyss (their version of WvW/WZs) where you could see which faction held which points.

I would like to see us get some guild specific info as well, but the first step is the individual info. The suggestions here are also areas we’ll likely look into, if they are feasible.

We know you guys are working on alot of this stuff, but lets be honest you could be a bit more involved with the wvw community. This would be one way of doing it. Make a pinned thread asking for wvw suggestions…ideas…what we would like to see. We play wvw way more then you guys so it would only make sense to reach out to us on ideas. I mean even asking some of the major hardcore wvw guilds out there for ideas would be awesome.

If you are planning on adding more stuff to the leader boards and WvW in general this would be a great way to start out and I’m not talking just a pinned thread where you sometimes post. I mean a thread where you guys actively post and communicate with us asking us about ideas we have, explaining why you can’t do certain ideas or won’t do them.

Guild based would be amazing! Request: PLEASE find a way to make at least some stats based per capita. I can imagine that all the easy to implement metrics are based on totals that will heavily favor the-larger-the-guild-the-higher-the-numbers. But these will neglect so many WvW-only guilds that have far fewer numbers.

which is needed , its the end game that everyone should look up to

WvW LD is useless until we don’t have real time update of score .

Let’s look at the good side here. Namely, the fact I’ve seen more attention paid to WvW in the past couple of weeks, than we usually saw in a month beforehand.
As for the boards, we were warned that they would start as rather a rudimentary
setup. I’d like to see what they look like in another month or two.

3rd party doesn’t have to design/redesign/count manhours for overhead/read through as many forum posts on every subject in GW2 etc etc etc as the Dev team does.
3rd party say hmm I think I will stay up all hours and devote all my time to designing this.
