WvW Livestream on GW2 Twitch Channel
Finally got to watch that video. LOL you guys got trolled so bad by CD and SOS.
There are some useful information in this video. But I got to say though that there seems to be very little communication between your havoc team and the commander. That is a common problem with havoc teams. Many havoc teams do not like to be ruled over by a commander, so they avoid contact with the commander altogether. By being an “invisible” havoc team you are not helping out your server much. Flipping a camp, if it aren’t supported by a much bigger overall plan, have minimal effect on the war. So talk to the commander to see where he needs you.
e.g.
Correct: We are flipping this camp because the commander asked us to cut supplies into an enemy tower.
Wrong: We are flipping this camp because we felt that we should cut supplies into an enemy tower, when our commander had no plan of attacking that tower in the first place. So that camp flip did nothing.
I look forward to an eventual live steam about zerg vs zerg. ^^

So what should stealth not mean stealth then? What is broken with the game if stealth is doing what stealth should be doing?
Stealth is the most dumbest mechanic in GW2 by far. It is simply fire and forget. You do not have to care about positioning, enemies can look in your face disappearing. damage does not knock you out of stealth, there are no stats in GW2 which influence the chance you can reveal someone that is in stealth. I love GW2 but what they did with stealth is far behind the mechanics other games have.
This was gonna be a post about small scale wvw mechanics and became a QQ about thieves. If you know anything about roaming you know that a thief’s got nothing against proper groups. We usually run about 5 to 7 players and we have 100% cc uptime and around 10k aoe damage per second per target. I challange any thief to come close to us… they don’t.
On the state of WvW: needs a fix. Unless you actually reward small scale gameplay groups like us will only continue playing for the giggles.
Read any of my posts, they are mostly suggestions on improving gameplay, punishing downed players, rewarding small groups and the likes.
Stop the qq about thieves. They are weak solo, anyone who doesn’t click skills can kill them

At about 14:00 Isaiah talks about finishing downed players in a small group and the use of thiefs with high crit damage to finish them off quickly. He says that if you hit a downed player you always crit (something like D&D’s Coup de Grace?), but I had never heard about this first this before… Also, I went on into pvp to try and test it but it doesn’t seem to happen. So, is this a WvW only thing , can thiefs specifically trait for it or how does this work?
This. Is there a crit-chance bonus against downed-players? Or were you just saying “ppl with high crit chance crit a lot”?
also, Issy, isnt it annoying that you have to keep your inventory open for changing equipment and food/wrench-buffs?
Any chance that we see a change to these issues soon?
Gunnar’s Hold
And that was demonstrated how? Make the change to zero clicking and then come back to me after a few months playing that way and tell me you are going back to clicking because it is better.
I alredy went back to keys+clicks (maybe im bad player, thats possible too) right now gw2 speed is kinda low, you have plenty of time to move your cursor and watch things… And in zerg situations it doesnt matter anyway. Even in sPvP fights are either too quick (thief burst or 100blades (well, they arent anymore)) so you cant do anything (ofc you can always pop some invulerability but i dont have any on my bar coz im war) even if you wanted, or too slow and you can watch birds flying around.

i missed the live stream but hope to watch next time.
I don’t think people are understanding that this stream wasn’t really for.. well.. anyone that commented in this thread.
It’s a beginners guide for the PvE crowd that find RvR type experiences a bit overwhelming. Bear in mind the VAST majority of users paying Arenanet’s mortgage have never done anything like this, and giving them a clue about party sized objectives is a wonderful idea. And on a side note: Finding thieves to be god-mode is a user error.
If you are a PvE person that finds WvW overwhelming, do you think think small squad play is the best first step to WvW? One of the few, in my opinion, good reasons for zerg’s to exist, is they provide a supportive, easy to access introduction to WvW. Not so much is riding on you personally, so you can afford to make mistakes and you are surrounded by people you can learn from.
So that said what is the point in streaming a small squad video intended for beginners? Small squad is where you go after you are comfortable with WvW and want to try different ways to play WvW, imo.
