its been asked many times. but no reply from anet.
in their manifesto they said, it would be 500 people, which anybody who plays wvw can tell is bollocks.
more like 300 people or less and that too in the whole map, not in wvw battle.
we have had aprox 50vs50vs50 in a battle in EU tier 1 , and the game crashed for many and lagged really badly for the rest.

I wouldn’t say bollocks, it’s just hard to tell with the massive amounts of culling.
I’m really intrested on how that really works.. I mean really, first you que to wvw and after 30mins to 1 hour que you get in to only see you are outmanned..
i’d like to see a dev or someone from anet to give us an exact number, i’ve heard 133 from each server on a map but we all know that isn’t true

But it’s certainly not 166 players, most agree on that.
I’d say something like 100 (and I’m being generous here), reasoning that the 166 is including the average amounts of pets (see the tread).

I think it’s pretty obvious that whatever mechanism they have in place is simply broken. Multiple players can enter a queue at the exact same time and have wildly different wait times. Players can be queued for a long time, abandon the queue, re-queue and get accepted immediately. ANet can’t specify a number because even they don’t really know what it really will be from time to time and situation to situation.

That’s impossible, we have had around 50-60 guildies on the same map with around an extra 20-30 other members with the borderlands having a 15 min queue. (this was our special WvW event mind you) so i would say it would actually fluctuate between 70-100 per map.

That’s ridiculous. I saw twice that number in a single [WM] zerg alone time after time last week … and that is not the least an exaggeration.

It is atleast 100 people per map, we in T1 have had 100+ on a map already. So I think what they say, 133, is correct.
+50vs50vs50 zergs don’t give me lag.

We, [WM], have joined into a map with 50 members maximum. (I think we don’t have more members at the same time.) And while running here and there, I can also see about 20~50 players. So I think the limitation would be between 100 and 150.
