I do not know if someone of Anet read the WvW forums, but whatever, i will give it a try.

When something big is going to happen, PVP or PVE, Anet Shows little parts of information. Maybe an intervew, a chapter of Guildchat, i am in love of Ruby i have to admite that, or just a few of lines in the blog.

The April update is here soon, and after that, the last hope of WvW is coming; the WvW-Overhaul.

Can someone tell something about these changes? Seriously, the WvW players, the people, your clients are nervious about this lack of information.

It is the company policy to never real anything in development, even if the majority of the WvW players hate it they will release it anyway. For example: EOTM, SMC Airship/Chilling Fog, Dragon Banner, Stability changes, Desert Borderlands, etc. All these changes hurt WvW terribly but it doesn’t matter if players don’t like it because they have been developing it in secret for a year. Not only we got 0 in contents it hurts WvW even more

The WvW “overhaul” that removed the servers was scrapped. That isn’t happening. What will happen is a most likely small “balance patch” (the last one didn’t fix much), along with stab changes and minor changes to the new maps.

Anything on top of what I just listed and i’ll frankly be surprised to the upside. Anyways, there’s still some fun fights in wvw even without the overhaul (mostly on ebg) so enjoy!

The ANet AMA thing, don’t have the link available right now, but a summary was on Dulfy iirc. They stated that they gave up on "the big overhaul" idea, because it became too big for them. And moving over to rather implement changes in small bits when they where ready. That is the short of it.

As far as I can recall, they didn’t say they gave up on the changes themselves, only that they weren’t going to implement them all at once but instead one change at a time.

I don’t see where it says anything about servers/alliances.

Well what worries me is that they are not talking to us how they are going to change it. There have been talk about not having servers at all, which will destroy the last piece of wvw and what it was. WvW is based on the servers, and servers have their own community, destroying that will destroy wvw and something else will come out of it that already exist in other games and have not been able to keep up the interest for as long as wvw have so far.
We seen this in gw2 already through EotM and it did not work. And it will not work, even if they would call it factions or what ever other fancy word, this simply is not the solution and a new kittenstorm will fall on wvw and we have had so many for so long that this will really kill the game mode if it comes out this way.

There really are only one way to solve this and that is to remove the lower servers with no population and no community left and give the players on it a free transfer to any server of their choice. Some will want to move in bigger groups and they should be allowed to do so. Overall i believe it will even out after a while.

Essentially overhaul was scrapped, but they will use some of the development done on that where they can.. On the forums look for a red post asking for top 5 changes – that may or may not be hint of what we see in April…..
