Why is it that only enemies get to see our ranks? In wvw sometimes I don’t even get to see other players ranks because of the huge zergs they travel in. I think that if our ranks were visible to all players then that would make a huge difference. Commanders would be able to distinguish between seasoned players and new players in wvw. Players in wvw can also really give respect to a vet commander by his rank instead of some newbie with a commander tag. I love the rank idea and the fact that it makes you feel like your moving in the wvw game.(some sort of progression) It would be awesome to see the ranks of my teammate in wvw. Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of this and why Anet has decided not to show ranks to all players?

Ps. Just like in PvE where you can see peoples titles, why cant we see people’s ranks like this?

Seriously ranks mean nothing. I got 4 characters who are over rank 50, I joined the WvW on my guardian who is now rank 18, does that make me a seasoned player or a newbie to WvW? No.

So why show ranks to all players? They mean nothing and will at their best make a huge green blob when you run around. Not to mention you can join in the prime times to run around with a zerg spamming long range skills and capping PvD towers and keeps and get super high ranks like many of my guild mates do.

Agreed. Ranks mean nothing – but they should.

In fact, it would make more sense if only your own team could see your rank, maybe set to show an account rank AND character rank in some way.

But please not more green/red text spam. Just put it on the portrait.
