WvW Reward System / Inncentive
it can’t effect spvp or perhaps pve since it would cause big issues for spvp and minor in pve ( due to people being picked to spvp or pve due to them having the bonus)
i have no idea how it worked in DAOC
not a bad idea but there is a a lot to think about.
the abilities gained could just simply apply to you in WvW or if they were very minor PvE would be okay i think. This really helps to keep people from feeling like they hit a wall where there character is done and cannot become any better. In daoc as you progressed the points became very few and far between sometimes taking 3 to 4 months to abtain the next but you always felt like you progressed and improved from when you started

This seriously needs to be implemented. Make the extra skills/ranks WvW oriented and can only be used in WvW. Even if it’s stuff like “Carry Extra Supply”, or banners that when held apply a ground run buff , etc… ANet, you guys have almost got it, but you NEED a system in WvW like this.
DAoC style RP and RA system but instead of huge increases to baseline stats and really over the top abilities we could see stuff that buffs supply carry, run speed, faster seige recharge speed and so forth… mostly fluff abilities that enhance different play styles in WuvWuv. Plus a herald that tracks stuff like weekly, daily and all time deaths/points/kills/captures etc. would be rather nifty for the ego people.
Nope. Once you hit 80, getting better at playing your character should be progression enough. If you want to stand out from the crowd, grind for the exotic armor skins. Stat increases always end up being a balance nightmare and only serve to increase the bar to entry to competitive pvp over time. I want to know that if someone decides to put the game down for a few months or even a year, they can pick it right back up and be just as relevant in WvW as the day they left (assuming they know how to play their class as well).
WvW has nothing to do with competitive. And this is a kitten mmo, skill cap is really low.
Roargathor…. thats what the competitive matches are for. WvW is for yoru server and the more you fight for it, the more you should be rewarded. im not talking major character change, and rewards for just following everyone else and taking keeps. the skill point rewards i mentioned above should only be rewarded for actually killing an enemy player. and again teh rewards would be minor, small stat increases or so on. so you are still improving your character.
Wv3 currently provides chances at gear. The event system provides experience (relevant for any player that is leveling and even players at 80, since it provides skill points), karma (relevant for numerous things), and currency.
Along with the chance at gear, enemies also drop Badges of Honor. Badges of Honor can be used to purchase PvP oriented gear (toughness + vitality vs something like precision + crit dmg %), weapons, and accessories.
There’s a Wv3 reward system in place. Not liking it doesn’t make it absent from existence. The smartest thing ANet did was avoiding the creation of a bar that separates players from getting access to PvP. You can say Wv3 isn’t competitive if you want to, but there are many that would disagree with you. Your opinions aren’t everyone’s.
There are a few things mentioned in this thread that already exist in the game. Through guild influence, you can purchse PvP/Wv3 buffs. One allows you to collect 5 more supply for a total of 15. One allows you to create a guild siege weapon, which allows you to build a siege weapon with less supply. There are karma buffs, xp buffs, and banners with speed buffs that ALL your allies can touch and that’s not mentioning Vitality, Toughness, and other buffs.
You may not see Wv3 as a competitive venture and ANet might not have created it to be such, but players constantly evolve and change game dynamics, sometimes outside of the intended purpose. Don’t discredit other players who chose to indulge in it on another level.
In final note, not being happy with the current incentive system is one thing, but the fact remains that it does exist.
Receive with simplicity everything that happens to you.
Sunny Lee – Henge of Denravi -Level 80 Human Elementalist
No stat increases. It ruins pvp, always.
Also, I think you’ve missed part of the point. Anet WANTS you to start alts, and play through the content again. That’s why they made multiple story lines. Plus they sell extra slots, so they make money off it.
Tryggon Gathol – [RvR] – lvl 80 Warrior – IoJ
Sechnal – [RvR] – lvl 80 Ranger – IoJ
what keeps people sticking with that character so they dont make an alt or even quit.
I guess I don’t understand why this part is a problem…

I’d like my 2 cents known. I would like a PvP WvW system . . . of some sort. I did enjoy DAoC’s model.
I liked the Realm Point system in DAoC. However it was flawed, as the people who played the most had a serious advantage over those who dont. That being said I think the title system currently in GW2 is incentive enough for players to want to keep progessing in WvWvW. I would like to see some kind of roster though that shows the top 5 guilds or so on each server with the most kills, keep takes, keep defenses, etc. I think that would provide even more incentive for people to want to strive to get to the top and may make guilds more active in WvWvW. Also it would give another competitive outlet as people would want to compete for the top 5 spots.
items, badges, karma, money, lvl increase by exp, should i continue? what do you exactly want?
as i said i think the title system currently in gw2 is enough, plus the money, karma, badges, etc. there just needs to be a stat system
i dont have any tittle
if you press ‘h’ and go down to achievements and go to world vs world there are plenty of things you can do to earn the titles accordingly, it will show you all the titles you can get
