WvW Rewards [Suggestion]
They could also implement a tiering system similar to hot for unique rewards, like armor and weapon skins and parts for this wvw legendary back piece I saw mentioned a while back. Just I would suggest more emphasis on the pvp aspect of wvw, where player kills are valued more that npc kills. Take your 5% rough number and only apply it to pkayer kills and change npc kills to something like 1 or 3%. Would discourage ktraining
other game modes you can get legendary items, such as sPvP with the legendary backpack. Anet needs to add that to WvW.
Pain Train Choo [Choo]
Mind Smack – Mesmer
WvW rewards has long been one of the weakest points of the whole system.
ANet never learns…
I’m one of the few that doesn’t care about rewards. I just want to roam and find people to fight but if your idea helps players come to wvw I welcome it. Too many little tag huggers running around these days….
Well, consider it like this.
I understand that some of us play can play for the sake of the content, but in order to fill the numbers a bit, there needs to be some widespread appeal.
But it goes beyond that kind of carrot theory. It’s just that well designed content needs to be well thought in all aspects of it. It’s sort of like how one dresses up nicely if they’re going to a formal occasion. Sure, your clothing and the way you look doesn’t affect your intelligence or skills, but it does show you pay attention to things and actually care about however you’re doing. At this point, World vs World consistently lacks in thought and presentation in many aspects, giving it the metaphorical look of a lazy bum.
It’s the thought that counts. In the grand majority of content in this game, it’s exceedingly rare that one feels like they wasted their time (barring extremely poor play), even if they don’t succeed. Even in PvP, you get a consolation prize, after all.
It’s in this poster’s opinion that ultimately the company is out to make money, and in the end this comes down to the economy and the gem store. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing, it’s just how things are. And naturally, the further away something is away from that, the less important it’ll be. So for the sake of that, there needs to be more ways to hook up WvW with the economy.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.

WvW rewards has always been a tricky thing to sort out. Many are afraid to have it improved to much for fear of people focusing on farming and taking up spots on the map. At the same time wvw has been a giant gold sink if you want to stay competitive, gear tiers matter unlike pvp, food/utilities some of which can be very expensive especially since its constantly used, siege consumption etc etc.
I have been a supporter of wvw reward tracks but it should only have rewards that are specifically usable for wvw, like siege, commonly used food, ascended mats/craft mats commonly used, etc. And it should only be progressed when earning wxp and only in wvw, not eotm. This would help make wvw more rewarding for players and help reduce gold costs while also making it less common to have to farm pve maps, because not everyone is into that. While also deterring farming.
Honesty is not insulting, stupidity is.

They could just match the PvP reward tracks. That way players could pick the rewards in either version of the game.
What I’m tired of is the PvP tournament/gamemode love with little attention paid to WvW. We constantly hear about $200,000 prize money or whatever that are funneled to what? Three or four teams total? They could’ve pushed GvG as their eSport, and had far more players, matches, and seasons.
Only reward I need is the satisfaction of killing enemy zergs.
How about keeping the rewards “kills only”, so it encourages actual fighting and less karma-training?
