So what happens if you accidently select arrow cart instead of flame ram? You just loose the siege? Hope we don’t have many human errors even though we are human.

Remember the bug where you’d jump on a piece of siege and it WOULD NOT LET YOU GO!?

Drop it with weapon swap, then pick it up. An imperfect solution, but a solution nonetheless. This is obviously a temporary hotfix to stop a duplication exploit.

That doesn’t help at all Fay. You can’t put siege back in your inventory without using #2.

You can still place siege sites as normal, you will just not be able to return the blueprints to your inventory once you have attempted to use them.

Siege is expensive – and when two people pull them out at the same time, now you’re telling us “too bad, you lose your siege”.

Why?

When will this be fixed? It impacts gameplay and scores when things aren’t usable or controllable.

cuz revenant copies your bank and you could have bought 100 slots of omegas or guild catas and used 2 to transfer them to a real toon and suddenly we have 80 silver omegas again for 6 months. (well not quite that large of a scale prolly but you get the point.)

duping siege is bad. suck it up, theyll turn it back on when revenants are no longer playable. until then i suggest you buy some omegas and toss them in your bank before creating your rev because youll be able to resell them AND fund 50 golem rushes for the hell of it, this weekend only.

Why was there no ingame notification? I lost quite a bit of expensive siege not knowing what was going on. There was plenty of time to inform us before the revenants were released for gameplay. Posting in the forums really does no good due to the fact that a vast majority of players never visit the forums nor make it a daily ritual. This is unacceptable and another example of poor planning and arrogance not caring if players lose siege and gold. Kinda reminds me of netflix in the mid 20000s.

I don’t mind them making the fix actually. But how nobody saw this to be a problem in the first place is the more striking one. I understand that there was a lot of possibilities, but it might have been better to just not allow them in wvw.

Again, I understand the need for the fix. But I just feel like you are punishing your players for your mistakes and as stated above you didn’t do a good job of notifying people either. And this wouldn’t be the first time. One example would be that time when the monthlies were reset for no reason and then they were just like “too bad” without any thought of compensation.

Perhaps we can accept that what’s done is done, but perhaps there may be a way to make up for it. I wouldn’t know how, but anything is better than ignoring bad things happened.

Consider the last trouble with the tickets for the tournaments. One of them was handled pretty well, I would say, the one where everyone received extra tickets.

Now I understand that the game isn’t just wvw and perhaps there was no choice in the matter. So, I would not like anyone to think I’m personally attacking them; it’s entirely possible that you (they) or whoever’s reading this isn’t responsible at all. But regardless of why, we are here right now. So please don’t feel I’m pointing the finger at what happened, but rather what can be done to resolve it.

And Archonwing loses his forum specialist position because he wasn’t white knighting in 3…2….1…

In all fairness, if they wanted a white knight I’m not a good choice because I only defend Anet about half the time. As long as people realize that the only people you should give 100% praise and 0% criticism is to your enemies, I think we should be better off.

Hmm, only noticed the disabled thing last night when someone called for an AC but then we didn’t need it.

Did this bug originate from the “exploit” in pvp stronghold where players could keep sending infinite door breakers due to that stupid bundle duplicate thing? How odd if so for it to cross over to WvW… Sheesh. That’s a lot of wasted guild blueprints, for some.

There should’ve been a pop-up upon entering WvW warning players of this change in place. Not everyone reads the forums…

All you need to do is to display a simple chat message when you enter the border. Nothing more.
Can’t be that hard right?

now that the revenant beta is no longer available (i think , by now), can we enable it back ?

So if they didn’t post here someone or multiple people would create threads and ask why you can’t put away siege.. First thing most people do when they find a bug is come to the forums..

Anet stays quiet = people complain.
Anet posts here = people complain.

There is nothing stopping anet from having important messages flash in game as well as posting on the forums. It doesn’t have to be one or the other.

It’s not like doing both would take approximately 5 minutes….

An in game message or message upon log in would have made this a non issue. That is what, 5-10 extra minutes at most? Seriously, is that too much to ask? Apparently, for WvW it is, considering their track record. So yes, I was being extremely condescending to him and his upper management supervisors. After all, they screwed things up in the first place, not us.

If a supervisor handled this as poorly in my business he would have been in the office immediately. The way it was handled shows how utterly little they care for the WvW players so yes, when I can I will take a shot at them for it. He is the supervisor, either he doesn’t know how to do his job properly, he is to overworked to care (more than likely), or his supervisors aren’t worth a darn (very possible)… hell it might be all 3.

All jokes aside I think your idea is good.. We all know when we will be kicked from WvW due to a new patch and also sometimes they state on screen that maintenance is being performed which might impact game or something along those lines. I usually only check these forums when I’m bored or find a bug. I’m sure some people don’t even come here as I didn’t start till I was already 1 year into the game..

Shame we have to have things like this happen just because a percentage of the players want to abuse things but men, hope it’ll all get fixed soon. =)

I have to agree an in-game message would have been far better.

Consider:

If you play the games, you don’t always necessarily read the forums.
If you read the forums and don’t play the game, this issue doesn’t affect you.
If you play the game and don’t read the forums, this issue does affect you.

Thus it makes little sense to make it a forum notification only, because no matter how you splice it, there are far more people that don’t read the forums, or at least this particular one. It’s the weekend too, and I definitely spend more time in game than on this board.

It’s entirely possible people would ignore an in-game message, but then the responsibility shifts to them.
