If ANET really gave him 35 access to the stress test it’s a bit of a shame … not gonna lie I’m pretty disappointed.

Is this honestly a surprise though, Don’t read the bullkitten Marketing. They’ll invite the streamers/youtubers and we’ll get the mess like EoTM is.

Isn’t a stress test, Isn’t even a beta. It’s a Marketing ploy and nothing more.

Oh no you read right, It’s just you just Arena Net for you, Now-a-days stress tests our just a marketing ploy, invite all the Twitch/Youtubers and get them to suck up too Arena Net so it sells more copies. They’re not interested in feedback at all, and we’ll end up with something that we don’t really want as they’ve got a bunch of bad players who hardly play the game mode, with there legion of 12 year old fan boys who will only play the game so long as Docgotgame plays the game for another 2 months.

Every thing on the web is true! And it seems every one believes what they want to hear and tends to tell more about the person posting about it then what they are posting about.

Any way i do not get this problem about stress testing having a set number of ppl. Its wvw there are 3 sides as far as we know there a lock on how many ppl can be on each side (at least that how current wvw works).

He is confirmed to have spots to hand out, yes. Besides, that would be a pretty cruel joke on more active, long time players if he claimed to have that much pull but didn’t. :P

I’ll personally be supporting the stream of the more avid WvW players who truly enjoy the game and don’t consider it to be their cash cow. That’s great if it works for him, but to me, someone streaming daily because they love to play and share it with their viewers is a better watch than someone who hops from game to game depending on who is willing to give the better payout. I suppose he could like it, but he talks about LoL and other games on his stream often while commanding in a dead timezone, so…

If you watched their PAX interviews then you would know that Anet can’t even differentiate between WvW players and PvE/sPvP players because “the playerbase is enjoying every mode and there are no WvW-Only players”.

So how the kitten you expected Anet to determine what a hardcore/experienced WvW player is?

And since more and more HC players lose more and more faith or even lost it already there won’t be an uproar big enough to get Anets attention.
EAT IT. Take what you get. Expect less than nothing. That’s how you get through GW2without disappointment

A lady knows better than tell on a source, but Doc was given spots. Again, he’d be a complete jerk of a person if he was advertising it to everyone then at the end saying belated April Fool’s. I’d hope he’s better than that. If he’s not… well, then he rightfully deserves the ire that would come his way, lol.

Unless the source was ArenaNet, it is not reliable. If it was ArenaNet, this is their forums anyway…

Honestly, I was a lot more into the EotM selection method of letting guilds apply. I feel they treat us like children, when they are like: “Stress test” when it is obviously a “Promotion Test”.

It actually makes sense. Mostly playing WvW myself, but I’ve always felt like WvW was too attatched to PvE. PvP and PvE is completely seperate, but WvW, the third gamemode has a forced connection to PvE. Yieks.

Doc is trash but since when have stress tests been anything than marketing ploys… I cant beleive anyone is genuinely surprised about this, lol.

We need more karma train commanders in betas!

It is even funnier when you add in the fact that the current rumor going around about why the top WvWers in his guild left, was because he wasn’t so interested in supporting those who were more interested in WVW.

So what, they gave out a lot of beta invites to an EOTM commander?
Sounds about right considering the first WvW FSP was a PvE player.

More reasons for WvW players to not buy HoT.

This “selection method” is an absolute joke. Sure it’s a good marketing ploy but I can’t think of a more useless representation of the WvW community.

eh. I’m on CD and Doc pulls big zergs when he’s on, and he streams all the time. he’s a big hype guy with a solid active wvw guild. this is exactly the right kind of person to give access to. Doc will stream the stress test while leading a guild group, and that’s exactly what you want as anet. ofc promotion is good, plus you get to watch player gameplay and feedback live as devs, thats super useful.

sure, there are other streamers like Shin who could have also got invited but they don’t command, they roam. we all know zerging is the main way to play and to stress the servers, so it makes sense that they would choose a commander. Doc has a high profile and a strong following, sure there are better and more dedicated players but how is anet to know who they are? they could make a sign up forum, but that would just descend into arguments and hurt feels. everyone claiming they deserve it more and raging.

Doc is a known quantity with unique benefits. i would have chosen him too.

Don’t worry, the real ‘stress test’ will be when the map goes live.

Even the old maps we play currently got ‘so tested’ that ppl can still abuse bugs, for example trebs near citadel at invulnerable spot.

They’re letting people stream the “stress test”? That’s pretty brave considering all the skill and waypoint lag I’ve seen in T1.

Anet should have gone the route of letting WvW guilds (or players if this test base is smaller) apply. They still could’ve chosen the Docs and Chemsorlys of the twitch world, but filled in their zerg with other players who play daily and would like to make sure that the borderland replacing our old one is going to reinvigorate a dying community. They messed up this time, but maybe next time they’ll go about it the way they did EOTM betas which I think was a really nice way to test WvW maps (it doesn’t really work in PvE but it was great for EOTM purposes).

As for him getting invites… if he’s lying on his own website and advertising it on Reddit as well, then shame on him. I’d personally like to think he isn’t lying and neither are the other people who have gotten in and mentioned that he did, in fact, get invite power while no one else did. I don’t need Anet to confirm it; I can simply assume he’s telling the truth and if it turns out he isn’t, then that’s on him. :P

Doc is a nice guy and his stream seems pretty popular, not a very good wvw player but that does not seem to be important for this test. Chemso is a popular streamer and he know his WvW stuff. 2 pretty good choices so far.

I am curious to know, what facts are you using to claim it is the same server, and what facts your using to claim they are using the same server population cap.
