With the new match-making system we have unavoidable unbalanced matches in terms of the accumulated score. The current ingame Match-Display (B) suggest that the accumulated score is a number of importance which is in fact not true.
If the match-display would show the rating evolution this would be much more informative, because it incorporates the expectation and not the raw numbers, it shows the projected real outcome of the match and not only a boring sum and especially as in includes the expectations of the match it demotivates less.
Devona’s Rest Henge of Denravi Borlis Pass
————————————————————————————————-
1 026.996 1 015.457 1 375.104 (old rating in small above)
-2.289 5.863 -3.858 (Evolution in BIG in the middle)
1 024.707 1 021.320 1 371.246 (new rating in small below)
would be the much better display, as it shows the reality:
HoD is doing best with respect to it’s expectation
whereas BP does slightly worser than expected.
Ceterum censeo SFR esse delendam!
yes, very much this. the new matchup system is mathematically sound, but bad for morale when players don’t understand why their participation is important.
adding projected rating change to the in-game score screen would do a lot to help players understand that sometimes you need to keep fighting, even if you have no hope of “winning” the match, because the rating changes are the most important outcomes over the long term.
