WvW Suggestion - Influence from Claiming
If all you do is claim camps for +5 then you are missing out on nine other buffs your guild can do. Ever try activating +40 Power, +40 Precision, +40 Vitality, +40 Toughness, +10% Health to your garrison? It helps a bit when you’re being attacked. Your server might thank you as well.
I see a lot of bank guilds claiming things in WvW if this happens. I’d be opposed. I like the idea, but I’m not sure the existing claiming rules are enough to protect against greedy claimers.

I like the idea and i’ve seen something simulair in other games.
You get rewarded for claiming something/protecting something.
(but in those games you get the reward at the end of a Fight/match-up. (2-4hour match-ups)
So Maybe per tick isn’t the best way.
North towers in Homeborder are not flipped a lot.
Garrison isn’t flipped that much either.
You Claim them and you get a lot of reward without much effort.
on Some server you can have that keep & those 2 towers for 7days.
So Maybe by succesfull event you get rewarded.
Upgrades. Defending events are the main events that run in Keep towers.
If they finish and you still own the tower you get a bit of Influence.
You can have differend Influence reward for differend type of Upgrade.
For camps it can also be Dolly succesfully arrived. in tower or in keep.
Maybe then guilds will buy more Guild Upgrades for wvw to help support there tower/keep in not loseing it.
Ps. Do with this what ever you like.
I’d support this as long as you can override another guilds claim if your guild has more buffs running.

Yeah. I can just see camp solo/duo groups with 4-5 personal guilds claiming camps and using the influence to make guild catas.

As long as is not possible in any way to override a claim, no. Here we have guilds claiming keeps without even knowing how the should do it, without even +5. Imagine if you get some benefit out of it, wild claims everywhere just for 100 influence. No ty.
More influence for active play would be nice though. Capturing an undefended camp with 2 roamers? 20 influence. Campturing a T3 keep after 1 hour of fight? 20 influence.
But as always, there are way more important issues to tackle first.

well basically claiming allows you to apply active buffs to whatever was claimed. Gaining influence say from claiming a camp, I cant see how that would work, do you mean that while something is claimed by your guild you get extra influence for events on the map? Also this would really open the door for a lot of trolling and abuse, essentially incentivizing such action because it rewards it. But I do agree wvw focused guilds/players really do need some love in terms of guild influence, loot etc. I think increasing influence gain for different actions in wvw would be a better idea. Say capturing a camp gives 4, tower gives 5, keeps gives 10 per player that recieves credit. This would help wvw guilds a lot as they tend to be smaller then pve/pvx guilds. And this would even help smaller pve/pvx guilds, as it will give them incentive to go into wvw to build up their guilds and help bring in more people for wvw which many servers are starving for.

Make it contingent upon that guild using buffs to claim stuff, and sure. You should not be able to gain any sort of influence from just claiming, and leaving the camp/tower/keep/sm short on buffs. You want some benefit? Give some benefit first.

There’s an idea. Generate influence based on the number of buffs active for the claim. No buffs, no influence.
