Okay so I posted a rather unrefined version of this idea on the main Gw2 reddit a few days ago, here’s the idea I wanted to convey.

So you take a camp in enemy territory and its starts spawning dolyaks, what do those do for you, anything? Now take a minute and imagine if there was a guild upgrade which would allow you to use that dolyak to say destroy the current supply stocked in a tower, or deal 15% damage to the tower gate.

The idea behind it being that often people won’t bother defending a camp because “we can just flip it back in 5 min” these dolyaks could increase camp defenses as well as increase the amount of enemies venturing further into a territory hoping to keep a camp long enough to get a dolyak out.

All in all I think it could make for interesting play.

What do you think? Anymore suggestions or improvements for the idea?

thats pretty interesting. could be some fun stuff here. when they hit the gate, i propose they explode and launch everyone.

I would oppose destroying supplies because it would be unlogical. I understand that a dolyak delievers supplies. However, that it destroys some… How should this be done?

Where I see some potential is that the dolyak explodes when it reaches a gate and does some damage to it. The damage should be pretty small (less than 10k). A tower should be opened by players and not by dolyaks.
I would like to add that I am not sure whether there needs to be a change. It probably has to be tested.

While the thought of exploding Dolyaks are entertaining, you can cap and upgrade towers just the same as anyone else on ANY BL. Those are not ’ Enemy Territory" it is ALL your territory and your enemies being there means you are slacking off.

When you look at ALL BL’s as being your own, it may change your perspective on how you view the objectives there. If your enemies own anything at all, that just means you haven’t done your job yet. ALL maps are your objectives and should be taken and defended, those are YOUR lands, and it is your job to rid them of their infestation.

Yes – i think this will be a good idea. Cause camps that dont have a tower and/or keep to deliver yaks to just idles around.
It would be good to come up with a use for idle yaks in enemy border instead of just standing around.

Sounds really funny but unfortunately goes in the direction of passive gameplay where you just join a border and every gate has been opened by the dolyaks

I don’t like the idea that dolyaks do any more than they already do. Especially capturing objectives on their own.

People overlooking the importance of supply camps just haven’t done or care for the math.

Losing a supply camp on your home borderland is a big cut in PPT. Camp itself is only 5, but the dolyaks now standing the camp deny you another 30 points.

Funny idea. However when i read the title i thought you could sit in its kitten and jump out to scare the enemies.

It’s an interesting idea. But I would disagree that a yak should take all supply, maybe damage gate is better proposal, because not all yaks go to towers only. There’d be some upset defense if they lost bay because someone didn’t catch that one Rouge yak in time and 1500 supply was gone out of bay as a result.

I really like the idea of yaks stealing supply. Towers and keeps are nearly always full now that upgrades aren’t supply dependent, this would help balance that.
