Hi folks,
I’ve recently come back to the game, and looking to get back into WvW. I live in Hawaii, so my playtime tends to be NA late night hours (9PM PST- ~1AM PST). For consistent and competitive PvP, would T2 or another Tier be viable for this time, or should I really look at transferring to T1 if/when it becomes available to transfer to (Full right now). Any input is appreciated!

What do you mean by “competitive PvP”?

During that time, T2 has WS, TLC, and now XT on FA. I see BUS on Maguuma but they are more PPT rather than PvP. SoS doesn’t seem to have any late night guilds so all we see most of the time are a pug blob.

T1 or 2 is probably your best bet. T3 does have some action at this time though.

For late night coverage, sos, jq, and Bg has coverage during your playing time… The only thing with T2 is there’s going to be a little more pvd, but then again,I seen T1 turn into a pvd some nights.

If you head to t2, stay away from Mag – it’s almost completely dead. I recently returned as well, and on Mag there’s almost never a commander on any map. SoS and FA still seem to have a decent turn out for the hours you’re looking for, but be aware that the only competition in t2 is between SoS and FA, and even then they seem to mostly just PvDoor. Personally, I’m headed to t1 as soon as I get the funds to so; t2 is just a sad shadow of what it used to be.

Even in T1 it can be slow during the NA to OCX transition period.

West Coast NA players need to step up and organize late night guilds to end the late night PvD. We seem to rely too much on pugging after EST guilds end their raids. Join two guilds: one for EST and one for late night! Both TLC and WS are late night fights-oriented guilds on FA.

Thanks for the input folks! For T1, is it even still possible to transfer to these servers? every time i’ve checked they have been full. I’m also still considering T2 — my main concern is strictly to have enough fights to keep wvw interesting during my standard play time. Thanks again!

I found Servers open 2-4am or mid afternoon 12-3pm(the open widow isn’t long at all.5-10mins top)

T1 is probably the best choice. The T2 competition dies off around midnight EST (about the time you are logging in). There are still trains running on SoS and sometimes FA but the action dwindles for all styles of fighting. At 1AM EST Maguuma is running out manned on pretty much every map with some exceptions. I would guess the population to be less than 25 towards the end of your play time. Seeing orange swords is unusual that late as well.

T1 is what you’re looking for.

Even in T1 that timezone is slow. Just not a lot of land in the middle of the Pacific ocean to have a large player base.

There’s often nothing in the way of fighting, usually an early/late guild group or 2 PvD’ing around the maps and a few hardcore defenders burning the candle at both ends to ride an AC down in glory.

Join TC if that is your timezone. JQ and BG sit around the same fence during that period.

T1 is the only server with consistent 24/7 action. It just depends on which side you sit in, bg,jq or tc. All 3 are great with unique aspects

I am looking for your timezone and later – active and engaged WvW’ers who aren’t deadly serious but don’t ignore map calls and will not grief a scout or roamer.

Hmmm… I would have been happy on HoD forever if we had a chance to win after sesaon 2 ended (you should see the other servers HoD, you are doing well… believe me.)

I am not able to lose week after week – I have enough negative in my life without my game being unwinnable.

If you want JQ you will always win and never have much to “take” so your ranking will be slow.

So being on an overwhelmed but engaged server is far preferable to being in Tier 1 – on TC and never, ever being able to win against two other servers who are 1/3 to 2 times your size.

Our guild [SG] plays this time zone for JQ, we are a 300+ member wvw guild and we are outmanned (nightly unless TC has a pve patch or it isn’t a BG push week) from 8pm pst – 2am pst when our ocx takes over on 4 maps. This has been the case for 2yrs.

Choose whatever server you think suits you best, but if you play after 8pm pst you will want to be on a T1 server, the rest are dead in comparison.
