WvW at its current state is feeling repetitive versing the same servers week in week out, what we need is something to just freshen things up and balance things in the same way.

What i am suggesting is a WvW tournanament essentially around twice a year there will be a tournament held one for NA one for EU for obvious reasons during this period if one decides to transfer servers they will be locked from WvW until the tournmanent is over. How this would work is there are currently 24 servers in each bracket these 24 servers will be split up randomly into 8 matches like the current system except the matches are random, the winner of the matchup will move up the server which comes second will stay and the loser will drop down.

Now there will be 9 servers, 8 intial victorious servers and the one who came in 2nd place in the closest margin to first and three matches the winners of these will move up the ones who come second will remain and the ones who lose will drop. from the losers there will be 9 servers 8 servers which lose and a server which came 2nd from the furthest margin from first , the servers which win will move up, second stay and third drop down. Now there are 6 servers remaining which came 2nd and weren’t in the closest or furthest margin from first, the server from these which wins will move up the servers which lose will drop down and the servers which place 2nd will remain.

Now there will be 5 rounds and the servers remaining on the top will fight it out to see who will be the champion of NA bracket and the champion of the EU bracket.

One problem which i know many people will be worried about is the balance of say a server like Sea of Sorrows facing Eradon terrace and Ferguson’s Crossing for the intial week yes there will be many problems like these however as the weeks progress and certain servers move up and certain servers move down this will correct its self.

The implementaion of WvW tournaments randomly within the year will keep WvW fresh and interesting and will prevent that draining feel of same repetitive match ups week in week out.
