Right now, it seems that WvW servers are in a good place. The matchups + server linkings have created the most balanced tiers in a long time. Would it be possible to lock the tiers as they are now, and prepare for a WvW Tourney at the beginning of 2017? I don’t think you’ll find a better time to hold a competitive tourney than this point in time.

Statically non-significant data and you want to create a tournament? I’m sorry, things have been jostled this week and it’s just not a good idea.

Collect data and then present this idea.

The change up when Anet gifted Glicko ratings was a blessing. I think all servers are now shuffled in the place that they’re meant to be, at least in NA.

Also what do you plan for the matchups?, tournament for each tier? do you plan on having all tiers in the same tournament brackets? Should I save you some trouble now and let you know who’s going to win?

You could have two tiers for a WvW Tourney – Top 6 and bottom 6. You wouldn’t want to limit each tier to just three servers, because there’s no chance for opponent diversity. Regarding winners, if you recall the previous tournament, being the top ranked server doesn’t automatically guarantee you a win.

WvW looking healthy right now is a good argument to NOT have any tournament. It does more harm than good. And ANet said that they are looking into different ways to give the tournament rewards to players, like in reward tracks, skirmish wins and such.

Apparently they saw a population decrease right fter the previous tournies, which they explained with people burning themselves out during the tourny.
I guess there won’t be a tournament before they figure that out, but who knows

Unless we unhook matchups from tiers and rank servers based on meeting equally active servers, I fail to see the point of a tournament.

Matches are not “in a good place” so I don’t know where you got that from…

There were also permanent losses in the wvw playerbase after the last 2 tournaments and the team still has a lot of things to work on first.

I don’t think I’d really ever want to see another tournament. Which server wins WvW still isn’t based on skill by any stretch of the imagination. Skirmishes helped, but only a little.

Would rather they look into other options for adding more value to WvW. Skirmish rewards would be a good start.
