WvW Wish list
Mine would be
1. Holy trinity for world vs world only instead of everybody doing their own thing . ( Tanks front then dps then healers . )
2. New maps to fight for and new setting such as Cantha and Elona .
3. Beasts of burden , build your siege weapon in a safe spot and have the beasts of burden haul it to a place of choosing .
Mine is
1. Factions (like in original GW)
2. Underwater Maps with underwater siege!!
3. Reduce the skill lag

1. Rework scores system so big population/coverage =! winning.

1. reduce the blob/zerg by getting lower wxp for the in high numbers and more wxp in lower numbers. perhaps people go back to playing more tactical.
2. revert back to old match system because EU looks badly matched atm and have basically emptied our wvw maps this week because of it.
3. change the outmanned buff so it raises the AoE cap slightly to compensate and make a difference in combat not coin.

More heavily restricted AC placement. Toss down 4-5 and you can melt a golem or rams so quickly that you can’t get paper gates down past 75% without having to rebuild siege again and again and regrouping with all the folks that die trying to man siege for more than a few seconds. ACvACvAC is not fun with this high of a siege cap.
1. If a zerg size exceeds 15 players, then it’s visible on the map and can be dynamically tracked by it’s enemy.
2. If there is a 25% population imbalance, then Way Points do not go down.
3. Disable “Right Button Select” — but wait, that would benefit all game play, wouldn’t?
I haven’t given much thought to this issue, but why do WvW ranks go from Legend to Bronze Invader? Isn’t that a bit silly?
Shouldn’t it be Invader>Bronze Invader>Silver Invader>Gold Invader>Assaulter (or whatever the next rank is)
Edit: I’m still at rank 13 so it doesn’t have any effect on me, but it’s really odd.

Just from skimming this… I would say the most desired thing is new maps in WvW… The maps are getting boring and siege is placed in the same spots 90% of the time. Lets mix it up a lil bit. A zerg should not be able to cross a map in 2minutes.

Let’s just convert all of the PvE maps into WvW maps and pick three of them every week as the borderlands.
Supply camps can be the little NPC campfires scattered around, and the keeps can be the larger groups of NPCs.
It’d probably a pain to implement though.
I think that new maps would be a really good thing. Even if we don’t get new maps though, I wish Anet would at least make some sort of change to the current maps, maybe a redesign of objectives. I don’t know how many people play Planetside 2 here, but in the past couple of months, the PS2 Devs completely redesigned the inside of all the facilities to make them more balanced and fun for both defense and attack. I was really impressed seeing the way that they changed the inside of every single facility on maps that are already many times larger than the WvW maps.
Now i know that PS2 is a game purely based on Player vs Player combat, and so they have a different situation. But maybe just a little love for us WvWers, please Anet?

Honestly, 1-10 are all on this same basic theme, so I’ll skip down to number 11.
11. Fix the Commander Icon.
You should be able to set it so that when someone joins your squad, your Icon changes color. You should also be able to make it visible to ONLY your squad members, if you don’t feel like leading every PUG on the map, or if there are 10 Commanders on the map already, or whatever. Also, make it Account Bound. I know that Anet said it has to be Soul Bound because they want people to identify 1 person (by name, apparently) as the Commander, and not have the same person’s Icon pop up under a different name every time. This is pretty easy to fix, just make it so that any time you turn on the Command Icon, your name displays as the name of the original character you opened the Commander’s Compendium with.
12. Fix skill lag.
Or if you can’t fix it, make it 100 times worse than it is so that no one will want to run in huge zerg-blobs anymore. Either way, I don’t really care at this point.
1) New maps
2) Reduce skill lag(if possible)
3) Reduction of large zergs (anything about 50 people becomes a spamfest of pressing 1, 30v30 is fun, though)
4) Reintroduction of consumables. No gears, spikefruit, or the such, but planks were harmless outside the jp!

2) Capping maximum amount of stealth per minute.
3) Make engineers be able to repair siege with wrenches. They ARE TURRETS TOO!
4) Make engineers be able to repair other engineers’ turrets.
5) Give ballistas manual aim.

I would also like to see less arrowcarts they have now become a pain really ,
or give the defending side a shield defence type siege to deploy against them. if you are under the shield (say 5ppl) you are immune to dmg from arrow carts .
I also think that Garrisons should be harder to take but not too sure if that would be popular

1) Separation of traits/stuff (at least traits) from PvE. At least something that allows you to respect real fast (for instance, template save which is being worked on but only in sPvP —’ )
2) Harder to contest a WP (not just 1 player trolling everyone) and/or bring reveal debuff as suggested before : even when stealth has properly finished !
3) More polishing/reworking of Wxp … to encourage less zerging (pretty large here, include the wider Wxp on objectives, nerf AC, autoloot …)

1) massive WvW map like planetside2 current map
2) mounted combat (may that be tank / transport / aerial)
3) scarier siege weapon (balista & catapult hit harder, treb 1shot people)
4) temporary consumeable weapons (like rifles / bow / ranged weapon for undergeared or non eligible ranged class, ofc drawback is you cant swap weapon)
5) 1 hit door contested is dumb too, remove that
6) downed state pretty bizarre feature on War Games, remove that, or just the rally ones

i would like it if every server had their own unique borderland. so in new matchups you had the home field advantage because you are more familiar with terrain.
buff some of the siege, the poor ballista is really lacking a place to be. (i would like to see it be more like a cannon, so the projectile travels incredibly fast and explodes on hit, that way people cant just side step it)
anti infantry golems! make them incredibly weak to siege but incredibly effective against infantry. so if a zerg is just rolling across the map 2-3 golems can wipe them out, but if they choose to include anti infantry golems in their zerg then siege can wipe them out and the golems will slow down the zerg.

Yes, please this is so chaotic right now: light armours at front (necros with locust and mesmers readying veil) and warriors trying to catch up at the back So messy…
Also, I would like each server to have their own bl, so your bl would remain (perhaps with one or 2 variations), but depending on the server you re fighting against, you would fight in a different BL, as set by that server. That would give you an advantage in your own BL which you know well, which is logical.
And the lag please ………

My only question is when you say 2. Do you mean buff as in we don’t need to stealth as much to be “good”? I know there are good non-stealth builds for thief but the meta is more focused on stealthing.
I main a thief and I think we need ways to put stealth more on the backburner even though it’s our class mechanic. I’m not saying we kill stealth, but make more viable options instead so we can still have our class mechanic, but spice it up a bit more. I don’t know how to execute such a thing and have no suggestions except lets not touch the current stealth mechanics but maybe tweak stupid things and add other options for healing/condition cleansing.
The only other things I want to see is;
1). Less Zerging
2). Siege upgrades/new siege
3). More WvW Abilities
4). Maybe another map
5). WvWvW to not be linked to map completion. I got my map completion but I feel the pain of other people stuck in tiers where they can’t get footing on a map. I was lucky when I was a hardcore WvWer and Ebay had control over every map a while back.
6). Maybe a holiday/special day event related to WvW to make it maybe comical/more engaging for other players that do not WvW as often. The special finishers always gave me a chuckle with some of them. Nothing big but the little things can make you motivated to do something new.
7). Commanders have better options of organizing and directing their squads.
That’s about it for me lol.
And the QQing to stop about Retal. Nothing wrong with it, just play smarter and you’ll be fine. I’ve never died from Retal or been hit for massive amounts of damage at once. Like 4-6k at the most because I just went willy nilly and then stepped back and went “Oh my, I better stop and think…”

Buff to Thief stealth? Are you serious? I can never, ever catch a Thief one vs. one.
1) remove the name tag of an opponent from the ui once they have been completely downed.
- can make an option to turn it on/off
- helps strategic battle movement
- less clutter on the ui
- it’s distracting and makes differentiating who is still in the fight more difficult.
I’m all for shorter invader names but that’s been stated several times already.
2) Absent removing downed state completely:
- Remove or tweek the rally feature. I’ve seen half a Zerg res off a player that dc’s.
– or 20+ removes rally, 40+ skips downed state
3) balance arrow carts. Reduce range/keep dmg. Reduce dmg keep range. SOMETHING needs to be adjusted.

I’ve got more but these are my biggest 2.
1. maps with more interesting mechanics; maybe more castles!
2. dolyaks in borderlands actually getting attacked by wild animals so people have a reason to escort them
3. incentives for guilds to claim and upgrade objectives e.g. influence rewards for holding onto objectives after you’ve claimed them, and have the upgrades cost influence instead of cash
this thread will be a great source for depression in a few months when none of this gets implemented
Give us a better point system, the current one is ridicules. Ticking for 600+ points for hours on end when there are no enemies on a map is the most silly idea I’ve ever heard in a game.
There should be a point decay over time, based on how long you’ve been holding an objective that also takes into account the % of enemies on the map at a given time.
Knowing that an enemy is getting full points because I’m not prioritizing taking camps/tower at the same time by dividing my forces would make me reluctant to take things one by one in a large zerg and instead force people to defend camps and split forces.
I also think kills should be tallied into the score.

Fix the interface so can right click to kick/add to party/whisper/etc.
1) Do something about PvD, it’s the most mind numbing aspect of the game mode where the only interesting thing about it is hoping (an equally matched) zerg comes in to intercept at some point while you are left twiddling your thumbs. The option for a few enemies to defend by hiding behind a million arrow carts doesnt help either.
2) Fully downed enemies should only display an icon instead of a full nameplate unless you are literally standing on top of them.
3) Skill lag should be addressed, even if its just a temporary “fog of war” effect that triggers when skill lag rears its ugly head, allowing players to only autoattack and heal (I think most players would be ok with this if the alternative is not being able to use skills at all)
4) Small battle arenas placed in the maps or have a new map built for them.

My point is that they need to be buffed so we can kill them. It is a joke that this class is allowed a GOD mode in wvw. No other class has the ability to kill everything at will and no be killed. And before you childish thief’s jump on and try and defend your class Seriously think about it. You have to be one really bad thief to die in wvw and that is the problem. You have no repair costs, you take badges and loot at will and no other class can do this and that is an unfair advantage to all other classes .
If a thief is in combat mode they shouldn’t be allowed to stealth away and regen to full and come back to the fight when it suits them. Buff it so when they are in combat they have the same slowness as other classes are crippled with and give them a regen skill to suit.
lol I know a little bit of a rant , but I feel that since the devs continue to avoid this subject we will all have to do a bit of rannting till they listen.

I have no hope that any of this will be implemented any time soon. After all we’ve been asking for some of this stuff since the beta tests. Auto-loot that works was one of the first comments I ever read on these forums.
Instead they bring out items that we really don’t need/want. Dmg/Def on Guards anyone? Guards aren’t hard to kill now. A couple extra percentage points either way isn’t going to change that.
On top of that Anet deliberately leave WvW behind when it comes to gearing up using badges (don’t get me started about the laurels). We only just got some of the Ascended gear, and still have to use ectos for accessories, and dead silence on the Back items.
There is no reason to be hopeful at all here.
1New tower/keep/garrison new design can destroy all wall/ladder/bridge any spot.
2More upgrade Personal/structure upgrade .

Currently, a server winning the week gets no reward…wtf is that? Why is there no prize for winning, where is the feeling of accomplishment?!

Unbelievable that this hasn’t been addressed. I really don’t enjoy having to manually invite players with bizarre names filled with ASCII characters in WvW. Or having to reform a group 5-10 times because we can’t remove an offline party member.
We also need a way to form “private squads” Allow commanders to hide the pin AND still retain all the functions of the squad system. Allow some control over the size of the squad and control orange swords popping.

at this point, why even bother bringing this up? i think 8 months of silence(see: failure) from anet on this means it won’t happen

10. Get rid of dead enemy players names. Putting mouse over them makes it visible again.
Confessionbear: I really like arrow carts
1) Make WxP account wide (Helps playing with more than one character)
2) Make the abilities from WxP account wide, too (see above)
3) Give defenders on walls, manning a Canon or Burning Oil pot a protection boon as long as they are using that siege weapon. Currently using Burning Oil is almost suicidal
4) Move the POI boxes a bit away from the icons on the map, so you can link them easier in chat to team mates
5) Give Caravan Guards a “moving circle of debuff”, so they can uncloak Thieves in stealth, as currently those can snipe way dolyaks far too easy (would make defending Caravans more worthwhile)
6) Fortified Walls should have a “Murder Hole” upgrade that deals increasing stacks of Bleed to enemies “camping right next to it” in a siege (perhaps at 300 range). That would require some softening up the wall /gate with a siege weapon and no World War Z rush on walls we see by massive zergs at the moment
7) You should be able to buy Letters of Commendation with Badges
8) Sentries should call out a text warning on map chat, if a large zerg (e.g. 20+) is closing in fast, as “they have spotted an army” (They are Sentries!). This would slow down zergs on the map, requiring them to send a tactical strike team ahead, if they do not want to be discovered.
9) The same should apply to Towers, Keeps and Castles/Garrisons (omitting the supply camps). This will help small population maps organize a defense against a large invading force.
10) A Tower Lord should be able to “purge” a fortification of all dead enemies for a certain amount of supply (e.g. 20 for towers, 40 for keeps), so you can prevent a stealthed Thief from rezzing a Mesmer. Again, this will help small population maps that can’t afford to have people search forever for a Thief or dead body when outnumbered.
Still keeps a volume of Kurzick poems ;)

Oh, 4. Make it so I can move the display of the WvW score and targeted player out from the middle of my view. Actually this is #1. Man that thing is annoying. Right in the middle of where I’m trying to see.
Mine Fields – purchased same as traps, not hidden, use the graphics for mines in the PVE world. Both on land and underwater (underwater mines have been used in the guild rushes). The mines can be disarmed, but if you set one off they have a large AOE and large damage. Can be placed only outside of towers and keeps as a defense against zergs. The mine fields should damage both friend and foe, so be careful where you place them.
Moats(with alagators) – placed around walls of keeps and towers to defend against flame rams on walls.
Ladders – Used to scale ungaurded walls, make it important to defend keeps and towers. Easy to push off if you have a defender there to do so.
Ranger, Thief and Warrior
1.new, creative maps (already seen lots of good ideas here like underwater maps…)
2.balancing. classwise, foodwise. especially +-XX% cond.duration-food should either be removed or nerfed into the ground. and something needs to be done about too-stealthy thieves and retaliation.
3.more blob-punishment.

That means you want a stealth nerf, not a stealth buff. Buff=make stronger/better, nerf=make weaker/worse.
Which is why thieves weren’t jumping down your throat and others were, they thought you wanted stealth to be stronger.
