Every WvW achievement minus the ones you can get in 1 day require an obscene amount of time and some look like they are literally impossible. Ive been WvW’ing for over a year now and am rank 1600+ something but most of these achieves I’m only at the 1-3% overall marks of completing and that is ridiculous and needs to be changed. So will this be addressed this patch or will we have to wait another 6-8months in hopes that it will be fixed on the next wvw patch.

Repair Master: Spend 1,000,000 supply on repairs
It’s Quite Roomy In Here: Capture 100,000 Towers
Going Camping: Capture 100,000 Camps
All We See, We Own: Capture 100,000 Keeps
King of the Castle: Capture Stonemist 25,000 times
Take Everything in Sight: Capture 1,000,000 objectives
A Pack Dolyak’s Best Friend: Escort 500,000 Dolyaks
Yakslapper: Slay 1,000,000 Dolyaks
Stay Out!: Defend 1,000,000 Objectives
Nice View From Up Here: Defend 500,000 Keeps
Stopped Them Cold: Defend 500,000 Towers
Walls Get in the Way: Defend 500,000 Camps
Stonemist Stands Firm: Defend Stonemist 500,000 Times

Some info on when this will be changed would be nice anet, I remember a long time ago you said you were going to address it but nothing has happened yet. This game has been out for 2 years and these achievements were seen to be impossible since week 1.

Give the devs a break man, they only just released coloured tags!

Don’t forget the new mastery and trap too! But seriously, there are some cool titles tied to those achievements that I want.

Any info from anet? It can’t be too hard to adjust a few achievements considering it has been done in the past.

I’ve been meaning to get around to killing those other 995,000 yaks that I need…give me like 200 more years and I’ll have that title.

Fixes for these are being worked on. As well as changes to the WvW achievements to make them more in line with all the other achievements in the game. And to reward a suitable amount of achievement points. However, making changes to achievements that are already live is far more complicated than it would seem and we have focused on other areas so far. This is on our list to fix by the end of the year, however.

Give them a break, it takes a long time to pick 4 different colours. What if they picked the wrong colour for tags…people wouldn’t be able to see it properly underwater!
The uplevels in EOTM pve wouldn’t be able to see their big fearless commander!

Got any proof? I’m fairly certain that no human will ever get the current Yakslapper. Even if you kill every yak that spawns on every map nonstop 24/7 it still takes an insane amount of time.

There are 6 camps on each map. every 5min every camp spawn 2 dollies, thats a total of 144 per hours for 1 million dollies you need an absolute minimum of 6944 hours.

And I do not believe that it is possible to catch all the 12 dollies nor that always all 6 camps are enemy controlled, if you catch 4 every 5 min you are good and it would take 868 days of 24hour play, i.e. longer than GW2 is out now.

Is it possible for any one human to have that kind of dedication to something so trivial, though? Sure, as long as the servers are up long enough someone could get it, but no one ever will.

Yeah, some of these Achievements would actually take decades of playing almost constantly to finish. Very unrealistic numbers. I hope they fix this.

That is making A LOT of assumptions:

• All camps on a map are flippable which is rarely the case
• No resistance is encountered
• A single player is the only one hunting said yaks
• Yaks never get bugged
• A map never has a queue
• The player doesn’t have some other life obligations
• The game will still be here years from now
  
  Blah, Blah, Blah… it is theoretically possible just not realistic. Nobody will ever get that title in its current state.

Don’t you get it one of the NPCs in the new pve map has a clipping issue with his hat and 90% of dev time is currently being channeled into fixing it to improve player experience. You must understand game dev is hard and none of you understand Anet’s priorities! I know they can’t talk about anything but it’s 2014 already so don’t tell me most of you aren’t psychic yet.

For me I know Anet is Fully Aware of this Issue and are Discussing it Internally™. Remember, even if nobody says kitten they are always reading our feedback! It just takes 2 years to respond, that’s all.

When the season achievement points come in, LOTS of players show up in WvW for those. There are probably several times more achievement hunters in GW2 than the entire WvW population.

But maybe the reformulation of your sentence is true as well:
Less people play WvW as there are no achievements that lure them into WvW.

The old ones are leaving the game one after the other (natural process) and if no new ones get lured into it the game mode dies out.

The PvP achievements got toned down after more than a year, so there’s still the possibility the WvW achieves will get toned down to more reasonable limits too.

But yeah, in the meantime, I recommend not playing WvW to complete the achievements. Just play it, do the Dailies and wait to get pleasantly surprised.

I play wvw for fun, I just think it’s ridiculous that a guy can hit rank 10,000 and still not have most of the wvw achievements because of how long it takes. Whats so hard about changing a few numbers after all this time?

But none of us understand the hardships of game development!

For all we know it takes 3 years and a human sacrifice to change a few numbers. Is that what you want? IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT.

The devs are aware of the problem. It’s just not high up on their list of things to do. WvW is already on the ‘deal with when nothing else needs doing’, then there is the huge list of things that need fixing, and finally at the bottom is ‘fix stupidly high achievement targets in wvw’.

It’s about as likely to get fixed as me winning the lottery. I still buy a ticket every week.

I want to be the ultimate interceptor

I’d trade all my tournament reward tickets I have and will have for a “Yakslapper” title.

You could say all the precursors were salvaged. Empty set is still a set …

I would like to point out that we can only speak for ourselves. I am sure there are lots of players that keep plugging away to get XYZ achievement. Case in point is Diamond Legend and Ultimate Dominator. If the other achievements were reasonably attainable, there would likely be many players going after them.

Maybe we are looking at this the wrong way. The achievements arent too time consuming, it’s just that the rewards are lackluster. I’m all for “Lifelong Monthly 300€ Gaming stipend sponsored by Anet” as something appropriate..

Well guess we have to wait another 6-8 months to see if they will fix the achieves in the next wvw patch… bummer.

We didn’t get new EotM achs in this patch.

Aww, don’t complain, they know about it and I’m sure they’re working very hard to get it more in line with the rest of the game. Things like this are harder than they seem, I imagine in two or three years they’ll be fixed.

No, they are not harder than they seem.. as a matter of fact, Anet already changed those supply achievements a long time ago, there is no reason why they couldnt have changed all of them..
(no reason except for "I would rather invest that one hour I get allowed to use for WvW development per year to bring you 1 new trap and 1 new trick.. it was either that or achievements.)

So will this be addressed before HOT expansion? Or will another new map with new achieves be added before you fix the original ones.

If I continue as I did so far, Ill have the title in just 650 years, Yeah!!!!!

Seems totally reasonable :P

But seriously, why weren’t WvWvW achievements released with realistic milestones? It’s not like cosmetic titles would throw the game out of whack, or that they couldn’t create more tiers later(Ascended Yakslapper!) or even new ones altogether. After being told how many times that people actually might want to have titles they’re still dragging their kittens about it and you’d think it would be a simple change.

I’m nearly at 15000 so I’m almost there. 985000 to go. At this rate I’ll get the title as my 100th birthday present.

I might be wrong but I think I remember easy placeholder achievements during the beta stages of the game. Anet then tweaked the numbers just before release. Between all the confusion of the release no one at Anet bothered to check those numbers I suppose.

So it seems wvw is getting some changes in the next patch, like removing wvw maps from world completion. Can we get a fix on these achievements in this patch or will we have to wait for after the expansion and the addition of another new wvw map with its on achieves?
