Wow, now this is an amazing change.

August 8th update? Are we talking about the big balance update?

Sounds really good, but i have a question. When we upgrade our wvw/pvp ascended armors, will they be ’ legendary ’ gear and have purple name like other legendaries in the game, or will they stay as ascended but have stat change ability ?

After seeing gliding.. This kinda makes up for it.

This is spectacular. It’s just like legendary without the skin? So the stat-swapping functionality will not be limited to when we are in wvw? I was not at all interested in the wvw ascended armor until this moment. Now I must get to grinding

Considering it gives a title related to the raid specific armors, that would be terrible.

I got the t2 shoulders exotic because i already had ascended to skin over but still have the original exotic etc.

Lets say i don’t like the looks of the armors that can be upgraded to legendary. Is it possible to transmute them to different looks without losing the stat swapping ability?(after making the process of legendary armor)

Oh oh. What about people who both raid and play WvW?
It sure is impossible to play both. It takes what? 2-4 hours per week to get the raid kills, plenty of time left to enjoy WvW.

Marvellous..now all I need is a complete set of one of the armours at 10-15 tokens a week and we’ll finally be able to change builds…

Or I can stick to my existing multiple ascended sets for multiple characters and then choose one for the next update to play full time as it will need another set after the ‘balance’ changes ruin the current build.

When the August 8th update is released, WvW and PvP players who own Heart of Thorns will be able to upgrade their WvW and PvP ascended armor to have legendary attributes! This new type of armor will not have a unique skin, such as the one that is part of the raids legendary armor, but instead will consist of an upgrade to WvW and PvP ascended armor that gives those armor pieces legendary stat-swapping capabilities without changing the skin.
The following PvP and WvW ascended armor can be upgraded to allow stat swapping:
• Triumphant Hero’s Ascended Armor
• Mistforged Triumphant Hero’s Ascended Armor
• Ardent Glorious Ascended Armor
• Glorious Hero Ascended Armor
To upgrade a piece of WvW or PvP ascended armor, combine 3 new PvP or WvW gifts with 1 piece of ascended gear in the Mystic Forge. You can purchase ingredients for the gifts from either Commander War Razor in WvW or the Ascended Armor League Vendor in PvP.

hello, i have gotten a set of Ardent Glorious Armor and changed the stats via mystic forge after a while. can i still upgrade my armor to legendary or will i have to get another full set? One can obvisouly tell that i have gotten those armor pieces since i have the skins unlocked.. if i had known earlier that we would get legendary pvp armor i would notve touched it ofc..

So if we already changed our entire set of Ardent Glorious Ascended Armor in the Mystic Forge to reflect a build change (which changes it to Illustrious) then we are S.O.L.? Is there any recompense for that?

Ardent Glorious skins require more effort than 25 LI for first armor and 50 LI / piece?
Sorry, that made me laugh.

Even Triumphant armor doesn’t take that long. It’s T2, not even 8 weeks of WvW for a complete set.

I’d like an answer for this as well since i had the hat and shoulders but stat swapped them.

If the gifts are purchasable from vendors then I assume that’ll be with memories of battle. 90k got bought on the 31st with no prior need. Any anticipated legendary would only need the gift of battle which is earned rather than bought.

I really hope you investigate this.

Great changes! Why did they close the thread in the pvp section though?

people make for prestige, very few do it for utility. If it’s not prestigious, there’s no point. Give it new (or raid ones) legendary only skins

This is a huge disappointment to me. I was really hoping we’d get unique PvP armor (legendary) to stand out in the crowd, so when people would see you they would know you’re a PvP-er. Making a 4 year old skin into a legendary is a terrible idea.

so… what about armor we’ve stat changed? I know back in one of the pvp leagues i bought almost an entire set of ascended gear. Since then I’ve stat changed it multiple times, making it PvE named ascended gear.

Am i just SoL? gotta get a whole new set for this?
