First sorry for my English. I try to do my best but it isn’t my main lang.
I think WvW could use a kick in the behind. It is fun now but could be a lot better. I played DAoC for ten years, and know the DEV team is looking at that game a lot to make stuff better.
A lot of my suggestions come from that game, and the rest comes from a personal idea how server vs server should be.
WvW Gear:
They should put the vendors you find in the mist in every WvW zone also. Just don’t make it free but charge a good amount of Karma for it.
At least make it so that with Karma people can earn Real WvW gear and not the (in my opinion) pve sets you find all over. WvW gear should only be possible to earn by doing WvW. So can only be bought by the karma you earn there.
WvW players don’t like to be forced into PVE to earn stuff for WvW.
Ranks:
Ad nice WvW ranks. The more karma you earn the better rank you get. And it shows. Before your name your name it should show your rank then.
This full name should be shown also to enemies. In that way people can build own fame.
For example it could be show over your head: Myrmidon Spreukje,
Myrmidon would be the rank title then.
Rank 1 you get at 50k karma earned.
Rank 2 at 100k
Rank 3 at 300k
Etc etc
Keeps:
Keeps should be real keeps. At this moment attackers get it too easy to clear walls from outside. We always line up 5 Elementalist and with 9 AoE I dare any enemy to stand on the wall.
If they are lucky they can stand fast at the edge and put one spell out, but that’s it. They pay with their lives.
On the walls there should be spots you can hide behind where AoE targets can’t get to. Just like with the real thing. Maybe AoE targets placed on top of a wall get a reducing in damage. 50% reduction would be fair.
Using Siege on a wall should take a lot longer to bring that piece down then when used on a gate.
Guards of a keep should be real guards. And when upgraded turn into half monsters that can real help defenders. Now they are decoration. Ad guard mages that can do massive AoE. Ad medics that res players even under attack.
One guard should be able to kill 4 players easy. Towers will be harder to take down…but also easier to defend.
Maybe for each tower owned by your side all guards in your keeps get stronger.
Make Guards also patrol outside in small numbers.
All enemies inside a keep should be removed from the keep after 5 minutes when the keep is fallen. This last until the outer wall/ gate is breached the first time.
Mesmer portals can’t be used in keeps you don’t own.
