There could be WvW badges that are like the pvp badges during the seasons. The pvp badges give you some indication of the player (don’t do ranked pvp, only do a little, probably pretty good, etc).

It seems like WvW could have badges as well. Perhaps it only makes sense during a season? It doesn’t seem like it needs to be as complex as the pvp system. Maybe it’s just a little tower with a rank in it. The ranks require more points each level you go up, so the people with really high ranks have earned a lot of points in that season.

You earn points when you score points for your team. Maybe a simple formula for points earning is number of points earned for that action divided by number of participants. So if you solo kill another player, that’s 1 point. If you take a camp solo, that’s 5 points. If you capture a tower in a group of ten people, that’s 1 point each. Maybe there’s bonus points for being tagged up and leading a group since that’s an important behavior.

It would let you know at a glance the players who had contributed a lot to your server.

As a WvW player, would you want this?

Yes and no with the general idea of having something to show for your “efforts” in WvW.

As long as it’s toggle-able; it sometimes amounts to unneeded screen clutter.

But overall I’m neutral… There are some things in this game that simply state “grind”; I reached ruby this season in PvP. I am a very bad, unskilled player but I got it trough grind and it’ll be no different to anything WvW players receive.

Same with WvW rank if they ever want to let players publicly show their ranks, only viewable to enemies currently; having a high rank doesn’t mean you’re skilled or you “earned” it… A lot of it is just grind or you’ve been around for a while.

Whatever floats your boat though.

Sadly, I can see everyone jumping to a T1 server to get their flashy symbol or title.

It will just be a “hey i Joined _ and zerged for __ to obtain ____”

Sorry this doesn’t appeal to me at all…the screen is far to busy in wvw now with names without additional clutter. I don’t play wvw for rank, rank is a by product of playing wvw but it would be nice to get better loot for a higher rank

no i dont think this would appeal to me wvw needs a lot of thing other then some flashy new tag

oh, you mean like the wvw tournament tickets you get during season, with certain titles that are only available during the seasons like we had maybe… 2 years ago when before anet messed up?

I like the idea, but it’s incredibly easy to grind in wvw if you just zerg or run circles in eotm.

I would like a title for ranks though.

Getting a high rank in wvw takes a lot of effort, even if you’re just running with the zerg. A high rank usually means something – or better meant as all of this became meaningless with EotM.

just saying – I don’t really need or want badges – and in the end, EotM spoiled it anyway – everybody who would see my rank would assume I did this in EotM anyway – so..
