While writing my reply to that idea of LS WvW maps I came up with a new idea for WvW that involves all of the PVE maps:
Conquest mode!

Here’s how it works.
The objective of this game mode for WvW is to capture all the territory in the GW2 map. You do this by taking all the spawn point towers and keeps within a zone. Each zone you own at the reset time of a day (reset for Dailies) will add 1000 points to your server’s current WvW score. Contested zones give 100points for each objective your server owns in the zone.

Each of the 3 servers gets a starting base at random from the 6 major cities in GW2: Black Citadel, Divinity’s reach, Holebrak, The grove, Rata Sum, Lion’s arch. The cities each server gets won’t be near each other but they serve as a starting zone. For each exit from the city there is a permanent spawn point. The rest of the zones have to be conquered. You conquer a zone by capturing all the spawn objectives inside of it. As you push your lines forward into new zones you may encounter enemy servers trying to capture that zone as well.

There are 4 types of objective:

Towers:
Spawn tower: This is where you can spawn into a zone. Your side must have captured a spawn tower in the zone to spawn into that zone. These will be near the border portals for each zone.

Watch tower: Signals when enemies pass it in high numbers
Defense tower: Part of a wall in a zone that you would have to capture to pass the wall.

Keeps: Zones may have a keep in them which serves as a spawn point as well as providing access to siege weapons not normally available in wvw.

Camps: Generates supply like normal WvW.
Open camps: Small camps generate little supply (50-100).
Town camps: Towns on the map generate ample supply (100-200)

Spawning
In order to spawn in a zone there must be a link of conquered zones from your server’s home city to the spot where you want to spawn. You may also spawn in a zone if you are already in that zone and your side owns at least one spawn point (waypoint) in that zone. Spawning in this way reduces a counter for “reinforcements” available at that spawn point. You can gain more reinforcements either by having a connected supply line (link of conquered zones) or by escorting a resupply caravan to your spawn points.

  • Mobile versions of all current siege.
  • Field cannons: Fast aiming, fast reloading, effective against troops, ineffective against buildings/walls.

I would go into more detail but I think i’ll hit the character count cap. Conquest mode would be quite fun as a WvW mode.

Interesting idea, I assume you are talking about a copy of the PvE maps versus mixing this into PvE. Biggest issue here is size. Even for the T1 servers I could see an issue spreading people all out if it was all the maps at the same time. But maybe if you added this as an additional map and had that additional map rotate in and out daily. Example today is a copy of Black Citadel, tomorrow is a copy of Plains of Ashford, day after Frostforge. You could just add in teh objectives and leave the normal npcs that are there. Would be interesting. Good hunting!

I am assuming a copy of the PVE maps. The complaints if it were mixed in would be ridiculous (even though I’d play a game like that anyway).

It would be all the available maps. Each zone we have now in PVE becomes a territory to claim. You don’t have to man every map too. The concept of battle lines comes into play where you want to have your troops on the front push while you possibly send smaller squads deep into enemy territory to knock out their supply line. A smaller server could fight against a larger one by disrupting the supply line thus allowing the frontline to eventually whittle away the enemy opposition.
