WvW exploits/hacks
Or, perhaps, there will be a huge banwave in a week or two. It takes a little bit of time to fix things without breaking something else.
At $48 a copy and full effectiveness in WvW by level 30, we’re never going to see the end of hackers. They’ll just keep coming back unless the bans occur within hours of use.
By hackers you mean organized groups*

Yes they can. Hackers will always exist as long as they can figure out new ways to hack. They’re annoyingly resourceful and determined little buggers.
There are groups of game hackers that will buy a dozen copies of a pc game (or steal accounts) just to cheat with each one for a few weeks until bans occur. Blizzard and valve/steam games use delayed bans so it’s no problem for them. Punk buster games which are immediate bans rely on publicly available signatures of hacks to perma ban, so they just modify code slightly themselves to circumvent anti cheat for a long while before caught.
Community and game master policed systems are the only truely effective countermeasure. Since you can’t even submit an in game support ticket, I’m doubtful of the response time on cheaters. I mean look at how many days it took for action to be taken against exploiters and bots after launch.
Trebs one shotting walls is a bug that occurs when a treb hits the wall in a certain way apparently that lasts until the match ends, essentially perma-screwing whoever owns it. Being on HoD and holding down Dreaming Bay my team fell victim to that “one shot” of the wall. It gets repaired to full health instantly when repaired but falls down after getting hit.
WvW isn’t worth playing when servers like HoD are exploiting broken walls with one shot from a treb from garrison and flying the orb around. Possibly some kinda speed hack as well.
As posted in another thread, people are using hacks to get full boons and literally float around. The orb disappears on the map and appears safely where they want it shortly after clear across the map.
The way the game works via client side allows people to easily hack the game in the same way we see hacks in BF3 or CoD titles. It’s getting ridiculous.
May I ask if you happen to have any video captured or any screenshots of HoD doing this? While I am not calling you out far this, accusing a server of actively hacking the game for the benefit of the server is a pretty serious accusation. Do not throw out accusations of hacking lightly.

Yep, video of CnD guild from HoD doing it from garrison. I didn’t take the video, but I think plans are in the works for it.
Nice red herring post from the HoD poster…props for being like republicans and the kings of misinformation. Might want to check how they are getting orbs across the map via disappearence and less the one minute runs to keep.

The wall bug may be something that is not actively exploited but the speed hacking and teleporting by individuals to move orbs across the map requires perma bans. ArenaNet should take it seriously or their game will lose a lot of subscribers.
