This has been brought up multiple times before but this is becoming unplayable. It’s been months in my server SBI where I or someone in my party experiences random game crashing in EB, usually while attacking a keep or SM or during a large zerg vs zerg fight. Now it is also happening in the borderlands as well. Last night after the defenders bannered the Lord 3 times we finally were about to cap their gari when the game completely disconnected and shut down with that now familiar window asking me if I wanted to report the bug. I could only listen (again) helplessly as I heard on TS the triumphant success of our mission. Is anyone looking into this at all?

Last night dozens of us were dumped, summarily, out of the game.

All who were crashed out had to use CTRL-ALT-DEL to get anything back – but had to close the process and restart the game.

I had to restart my computer – twice – after crashing in very small actions as well as the classic “our 20 against your 35+” tower or castle/keep fight.

I’ve never had WvW crashes before two weeks ago – never.

Now we are crashing and the other side, if they see us all disappearing, takes that as their queue to go take everything we have since we can’t get back in and they are still on the map.

By the time everyone who hasn’t given up comes back to the maps five or more properties are taken – up to and including our home keeps.

Good to know it wasn’t my internet connection last night. I haven’t experienced any probs in WvW(besides the very occasional lag here and there) until last night. Went to help with a huge battle outside SMC last night, and all of a sudden HUGE lag…..thought I was going link dead as my key mashes weren’t responding….and then all of a sudden they all go off and I am down with 10 enemies on top of me about 20 clicks from where I was…….was really bad. So I shut down and went and mowed the yard….when I came back around 10pm pacific time, everything seemed to be ok.

Anet would improve massively the WVW performance for many players, if they would finally improve the overall game performance through implementing finally DX11 Support AND by supporting the game also finalyl more especially with a 64bit client also too, so that our gaming pcs won’t get crippled down anymore by the games 32bit client and its crappy lousy DX9 support that GW2 only has, when Anet announced before the game got released, that there will be later also DX11 support.

I asm myself, when Anet finally wants to make steps forward improving the overall game performance, so that gaming pcs can finally make usage of all of their whole performance power that forces many players to play WvW with crippled down settings just to ensure, not to get disconnection errors due to the game running out of the limitated RAM, which gets quickly used up in WVW with graphical max setting,s if 2 huge zergs collide into each other spamming their AoEs…

So, not being a computer expert, what can I do with my settings to limit these incidents? The disconnecting is so unpredictable that I don’t know how far to lower my settings to prevent these incidents because otherwise, the game works fine.

Have you read anything about the megaserver patch that might also be addressing some of the things you listed, Orpheal? Just curious, as I haven’t seen anything mentioned in the megaserver patch notes about it, but one would think that might be a good time to throw in some of those changes…..

I would think just having a 64 bit client would help tons…….

So, not being a computer expert, what can I do with my settings to limit these incidents? The disconnecting is so unpredictable that I don’t know how far to lower my settings to prevent these incidents because otherwise, the game works fine.

While I can normally run the game on much higher settings, I usually hit the escape button in game, go to options, graphics, then set it to Best Performance in the pull down box that is right above the individual graphic settings. That usually helps tons when you encounter the huge zergs. (I usually adjust a few of the settings up a bit after hitting the Best Performance, as that lowers the graphics alot….so I will kick a couple things up to make it look better, but still not lag horribly in zerg warfare)

And then when you get back into PvE, it’s real easy to hit the same pull down in the options and choose either AutoDetect or Best Appearance to kick your graphics back up again.
