I think that practice when only commanders buying mostly all siege stuff is not very fair. If they are good on the battlefield, let’s give them opportunity to fight, not to farm.

I suggest to create some kind of donation pool, and gold from that pool can be used by commanders for buying upgrades or siege equipment (in that case all sieges should be soulbound). Donators can be awarded with some kind of “Hall-of-Fame” ingame page or/and some title.

Also this will be a good method of gold sink, imho

Most of the people on my server (Jade Quarry) donate siege to commanders without being asked. Last week one of them said he got around 50 sup siege and 5g from a player.

I didn’t know not donating was actually a thing.

I do this either. Unfortunately, as a “pvp trader” I do not spend much time on WvW and know only few commanders. I can donate much more then 5 gold, the problem is that I don’t know how to find all active commanders.

Go on your server’s Teamspeak and see who’s on often. Most of the commanders I see are regulars that are on very often.

Siege gets dropped by just about anyone.. commanders aren’t required or expected to provide any siege blueprints, let alone all of them.

BG does indeed have a warchest for the guilds part of the war council (all major WvW guilds) for this particular reason.

zerglings throughout the mists are told “let the commander throw the siege” so we dont end up w/ 10 ram prints at an undefended paper gate.

You should come to IOJ… Common practice for pugs to send their commanders siege that they pick up along the way to help out… I myself have commanded a few times and by the end of it when I check my mail I have things ranging from rams to omegas and superior siege

They should add a gemstore item for 200 gems that gives the one who opens it a stack of rams, acs or catapults etc. This could be sent as a gift. WvWers would spend more gems, everyone would be happy…
