I am elementalist player with 80 lv,I want to craft legendary weapon and one of the components is gift of battle,but to buy it I have to get 14 rank. I dont even know how to exp it.Please give some advice for pvp/wvw/ noob player

If all you want are levels, join EOTM and follow the tag.

Yeah,rank is all I want :P I am not good and dying fast,probably not best build :/

Rank 14 is easy, solo capping camps and sentries can smash that out.

Fastest would be following the zerg in EOTM (shudders). I hate that EOTM inflates peoples ranks…….
But even better log into WvW, join the voice comms and have fun. Before you know it you will be Rank 3350 like me =)

I’m no ele but have some general suggestions

- Set your build and equipment (if possible) for as much tankiness as possible (see metabattle); with a tanky build, an ele provides pretty good support for the zerg – you need more survivability in WvW than you think.

- You will rank up exceedingly fast in EOTM since there are always zergs running; stick with the commander; (you are considered backline so don’t push with the commander, but stay within dodge distance).

- Suggest using a staff for AOE and tagging, and wxp buffs wherever possible

- Prioritize skills for defense and escape.

- Have fun! Running with a good commander with the occasional fight in EOTM (esp nowadays) can be quite enjoyable.

Also know that in WvW dying is part of the process, everything wants to kill you from the enemy players to those slightly declining slopes.

That probably depends strongly on which server you are and what your opponents are.

So before you try wvw, find out which server you are and how your server (currently) does in WvW at http://mos.millenium.org/ and if you are free at which time to play click at your servers name and find out at which time it dominates the match. E.g. if you play on Baruch Bay you reach lvl 13 fastest if you play WvW from 0-3 am ; if you play in Vabbi or Ruins of Surmia, forget about it (this week).

Unless you are used to wvw, zerk gear that pve uses often means death in wvw. Many experienced players will go to zerk eventually, but often start as PVT just to survive. Once you have seen how the enemies push and what tools they use (veils portals etc) you learn to anticipate.

Would be great if we knew what server your on.
If you only realy want to get 500 badges of honor and rank 14 than equipment change isnt something you neceserly need to do.
But if you acctuly want to get going in wvw, i would suggest you look trough some elementalist POV videos and maby join a wvw guild that is beginer friendly, they will probably help you the most with whole setup and tactic you need to use. Also ALWAYS, and i realy mean always join teamspeak, all commands are going trough that(doesnt apply to EotM).
staff backline build with 3 cantrips and earth/water/tempest traitlines i guess with soldier armor so you wont die of random aoe.

Also be prepared to die, a lot. You are new to gamemode that doesnt have a lot of beginers. Atleast i dont see many people under bronze rank.

EDIT: Dont be afraid to ask in map chat things about wvw, just be sure to not sound trollish and dont even try saying anything about gift of battle, we dont like pve scrubs that are there just to karma train.

I want to by active player at wvw and pvp but I am very bad at it ,so I decided to make eq first and bitfrost requires gift of battle ^^

I heard a lot of guilds left FSP for SFR, dont know if this info is true though. But you are on a server that does a lot of fighting and is acctuly quite good at it, also high enough tier, with decent population. Just join in EBG and start your journey in wvw. No point in bothering with EotM.
Remember first survive than deal damage.
(begin with soldier gear, so you dont go down instantly)

Hey Dayan, you remind me of myself when I started playing. I would get smoked constantly. Honestly, if ya wanna get good at the game just try the youtube vides, search like “ele roaming wvw”. People in this game are pretty cool about sharing builds and such. Go out there and roam fight people 1v1 or 1v2, get your kitten kicked a few times. It’s no big if you lose, just as long as you learn what you did wrong. You’ll learn how to move and most of all, what your rotations should be.

The guys are right, EOTM is the fastest way to rank these days unless you are in like T1.

Do your server a favor and go to EoTM if all you want are WvW levels IMO…

If you aren’t willing to learn to be beneficial to your server and are going to quit WvW once you get rank 14

Try WvWvW instead of EotM. It is more challenge. Most of the above advice is good. Use birthday booster (= double WXP gain!) + follow your zerg or put tag up yourself and lead your side to victory!

I have gotten full hero point unlock to many of my alts that way in WvWvW. Some of them have been severely under geared e.g. some gear is blue level 65 gear (I didn’t tell other Deso players that my alt commander char had so lousy gear, haha ;-) ) Now I made yet another full ascended set from the loot I got from WvWvW. And I regularly fight against servers like FSP. Getting 14 levels with my method should take less than 8 hours, probably like 5 h in total.

Once I will get bitfrost,and make tanky character I will be doing wvw events, now all I want to do is craft eq Thanks for the tips guys !

I don’t think you can do that anymore.

Other possibilities if you really really despise WvW fighting:

- Do the oasis event – this gives a ton of xp and helps out your server
- Escort yaks; not sure how much xp this gives
- Sit in your keep on defense; you will get xp for defending and repairing walls
- Flip sentries (and camps if u can)
- Flip frogs and dredge in EB

Of course all of these pale in comparison to a good zerg run in EB or EOTM.

Buy a booster or use a BDay gift and go to EotM then follow a commander around. Should be three hours or less to get that much with a booster running.

You can also do it in EB by following a solid commander around. The “trick” is to tag everything. You don’t actually have to be at a tower or camp when it flips, you just have to kill a guard and at some point when it flips you will get credit.

Same like before: EotM, follow the commander, or regular wvw and follow the commander – best way to get them is through dailies though.
ETA. Forgot: You also get them from AP chests. I think 500 for each chest.

With HoT, where they introduced buying Hero-Points with WvW-Rankup-chest content and all liquid WEXP was removed as well.

Yes, it’s 60 for all 4 dailies each day – the “easy and difficult” is to be taken with a grain of salt.

You can still get the liquids in rank up chests or even probably (haven’t noticed) from killing an enemy, but it will go directly to your wxp – you will see the bottle when opening the chests though.
