WvW is extremely boring. need a real wvw map
I still love it man. great fighting. even if they hiding in a tower.. its still interesting sometimes.

Ban the bots
If the new map is anything like the Edge of the Mists map or the new redesigned Borderlands, I really do NOT want any new maps at all. Currently Eternal Battlegrounds is the only WvWvW map, which has decent design (it could still benefit from balancing the different colors).
Instead of new maps and new overpowered features, please give us:
- more balanced match ups
- improved commander UI
- less lag and disconnects

+1 to that, it is not the maps that are boring, it is what people chose to do on them that makes it a boring experience for you. If the above three were addressed that would go a long way to making the match ups more interesting and dynamic.
People whined for a year for a new map and we got EotM without seeing much improvement in the above big 3 (well culling was fixed and lag was improved before EotM made it worse again so they did some work in that department, I’ll give them that).
Now there are things ANET can do with the existing maps that could improve things like something besides more PvE in the NE & NW corners of the borderland maps and some element of surprise in the newly improved ruins middle areas to throw more chaos into the mix. “And you know the thing about chaos, Harvey. It’s fair” It all comes down to finding the balance for rewarding defense without making a ton of turtles and rewarding offense without making a bunch more karma trains out there but it is still up to us to play the game for the fun of it or decide to make a chore out of things forcing ourselves to be most efficient. Fun is more fun I hear.

I’ve been playing WvW for well over a year and have spent a lot of time on these forums. Those are three of the top five issues that players have complained about … culling and the commander system being the other two. The only one that ever got any attention was culling.
As far as WvW being fun, it was a LOT of fun originally, when players actually took the point system seriously. I remember servers getting themselves organized on TeamSpeak, splitting into different groups to mislead the enemy, learning where to place siege and how best to take it out, defending towers and keeps, making use of small teams for scouting/killing yaks, and actually plotting strategy and counter strategy while still fighting awesome battles.
In my opinion, two things killed that:
The most important was the gradual realization that population and coverage trumped EVERYTHING else in WvW and that ANet wasn’t going to do anything about it … even to the point of publicly stating that WvW was never meant to be balanced.
The second was the addition of individual rewards that made mindless zerging more relevant than paying attention to PPT.
ANet could have salvaged the fun that once was WvW, but they’ve ignored every plea since then to do so.

EotM just proves that ANet is obsessed with gimmicky mechanics. It’s nice to see them experiment with different ideas and concepts and I welcome having a general overflow system in place for WvW.
But the core WvW experience hasn’t improved. Instead it’s gotten worse.
This is mirrored somewhat in sPvP, where Forefire and Niflhel are clearly the best maps. They have the best game-experience and the least influential gimmicky crap. They also happen to be two original maps.
Looking at what followed that, Temple (good), Spirit Watch (o.k.) and Skyhammer (oh my god why…why….?) you can clearly see a trend.
There is a certain quality to simplicity, especially when it comes to PvP. And that quality is something ANet seems to be lacking more and more.

i have suggest in my thread to downscale the population in home borderlands to make them less zergy as a emergency solution and a total rework of the maps to improve the eb performance too
EotM is a real WvW map. It’s quite fun.
