WvW is so lagy.
Yes, i wounder about the same thing. How is it not yet fixed? I still got crazy lag in WvW. Couldn’t even get a simple swiftness skill in before 15 sec or so. Please lower the limit in wvw until you have a fix for the lag.
I also fele lately very oftenly again massive Skill Lags that are like +5 seconds and longer or even so strogn lags, that even the Chat lags or that you start to rubberband through the game.
I always know, when it happens, basically when I just can keep on running around with my Character, but I can#t suddenly use any skills anymore, the game reactly on nothing anymore and then some time later all what happened in the mean time happens in a matter of a blink of an eye instantly, what happendcin real time while yo uwere lagging and either you find ypourself then dead on the ground instantly, or you get rubberbanded to an other spot on the map.. in most cases to an old place where either the lag started for you, or to a new place, where the lag ended for you .
it the worst case, the game has so much lag at the moment for you, that you get forcefully disconnected, because of the games client server connection breaking in or what I guess is, forcefully gets stopped by the game so that the servers lose pressure at that moment and you as a player who got chosen by the game to get forcefully dced gets for it the red card…
I don’t know, what is wrong right now, that the game lately starts to lag in certain servers so extremely that WVW becomes unplayable, even if not zergs of like 50 people clash into each other.
The general lag problem imo is only something, that can be solved in future, if anet does finally somethign more for the overall game performance for the player’s PC side.
With a 64bit Game Client and DX11 Support at least, I’m 100% sure, would have alot lesser peopel such nasty lag problems in the game and the game woudl run for alot of players in WvW alot smoother.

I just have a problem with rain and snow. I wish we could shut off weather in options.
Cant sell lag reduction in the gem store.
Meanwhile black wings sell really well.
Combined with the work on HoT, I doubt anybody at Anet is currently looking into this. They rather have their players paying for WTFast than talking to the providers what this bullkitten is about.
The lag is here to stay, it’s always been a server issue.
Anet’s income has just kept falling, the game isnt doing that well. Hence why so much content has been added for only PvE.
As for HOT again it’s mainly PvE, one new WvW map to get WvW to also buy the expansion. But you know that even if this does give anet some extra income, it wont be enough to improve WvW servers; PvE comes first i’m afraid.
They may be able to limit it by prioritizing bandwidth to higher ranked servers, but this just means more lag for the rest of us.
Why does this have to take so long? After over 2 years this game is so unpolished.

Stability changes adding extra calculations / burden on already stressed servers.
WvW can’t deliver a smooth gaming experience anymore. Please upgrade servers Anet.

If that’s the case, that’s pretty BM of Anet. I get that they want to make the game esports, but not at the expense of an entire other section of the game…
Since the recent patch, getting dc’d often, lag, rubber banding, skill lock….it’s all over the place. WvW, PVE, etc. Hopefully will be addressed soon or an update from devs? Game is pretty unplayable right now for me at least.
Some told the management of stab stacks is likely to be a huge impact for servers.
This sounds highly likely as in the past aoe were reduced to five target to manage lags.
Maybe aoe should be reduced to 1 target to manage lag
This would add some nice stuff to the new beautifull game design.

No, not always. But since patch is unplayable (fluctuates between 60ping – 500ping).
That lag on reset though… Unplayable to say the least.

This last patch borked the servers. The servers now have to calculate stability stacks therefore increasing calculations where as before it was more or less if you have stab do not cc this characther….think that’s where the lag is coming from?

you’re a fool. so basically blame the playerbase for playing the gamemode lol. people like large scale fights, they are core to WvW. Did anet somehow not foresee this? What did they think would happen by makig 3 servers fight each other with a 100 man cap on each side along with putting a giant castle objective in the middle of the map. The new stab changes are what is probably responsible.

There is large scale then there is a map filling blob all in one spot. I’ve seen 3 swords on a single map and had little to no lag. It’s only when everyone 11111 spams in one spot. If that’s your thing then expect lag.

Saw multiple large fights with 40+ vs 40+ and it wasn’t lagging much. 80+ vs. 80+ yes though. Idk if you just had a ton of AOE going on in that particular fight or what.

It only used to lag once a while and mostly on 3 way fights of blobs but since the patches this week lag has become unbearable…
What we need:
Anet please atleast acknowledge that something is wrong since patch this week and let community know if you are atleast looking into it!
PS 1: I know there is a thready WvW is laggy but it is 2 year old thread necroed. This one is specific to lag after patch this week.
PS 2: Lag is happening even in smaller group fights or 40vs40 fights and not even 3ways and it isn’t related to hw/group size. it is server lag that has gotten worse.

What in the last patch did this? The stability change? I was just in a keep battle, 8 times to use elite, heal skill not responsive. This wasnt even near stonemist. Ya the last patch broke WvW. Revert Stability and see what happens.

Ok but before the patch it was fine to defend lets say garri against giant zergs. You do agree with me that a fully upgraded garri should be defended at all costs, so the whol server probably goes there. It should be possible to fight, not just press one and hope something happens. And that what kinda happened since the patch.

This the first time my server has had the chance to play against SFR in europe and the match up is being ruined by the worst lag i’ve ever seen.

Well…no, We had lag issue for over 2 year and u know what anet did? 1. they asked for lag to report it, 2. they wrote21 months ago – 2 months! afetr 2 years that it is due to german’s server room and they investigate it….still nothing. And the cause of current lag aren’t zergs, it is abotu stabillity. Before patch u had lags at EB only, now it is everywhere cos servers can’t handle stabillity stacks calculate during so many fights at same time. Also anet just made it to blob with newest patch cos when u blob now u win. I didn’t see a single guild wiping out a blob during last days. So don’t try to defend servers, cos it is because of a cheap servers. Why it works when u run WTFast? Cos WTFast have much better servers than original ones.

ZvZ has always caused lag. I’m really not seeing a large difference between pre and post patch.
On EU servers I am seeing it quite clear. I have not had the skill lag like this since more than a year. Even longer I think. And it started on the night of the stability change patch, not saying thats it. But something in that patch caused major lag for entire servers. Our garri fight was actually abandoned by drakkar lake and abaddons mouth not because we won, but because none of us could do more than press 1 and wait 5 to 10 seconds before something happenend.
The lag increase happened definitely on patch day last week, whole map/ts was upset about it, and 40vs40 is enough to cause it. You can even see ppl ‘stuttering’ around now too. This patch definitely did some great work on breaking wvw fun down, devs must be proud right now, GG! Keep it up like this and next season will be fought by NPCs…

Fix your kittening lag server. Every kittening patch the same bullkitten for almost 2 years +.Get gud bunch of clown kitten at Anet.
1,200 to 5,000 pings in WvW and PvP tonight in every map but EB, GG.
Seconding, along with my other post. I am losing players from this game due to the lag issues. You literally can not play the game in fights over 30 vs 30. Heartbreaking </3

Pressing skills and just nothing happening kittening awful.
It’s bad enough you’ve totally destroyed roaming but now you can’t even group fight without huge spikes.
Plus this week it’s jade sea so every 9 seconds there’s a blob it’s actually unplayable.
Since the new patch the lag in WvW has gotten ridiculous. It’s as if anet bought new servers put HoT on the old WvW servers and put WvW on the new worse servers.
Honestly it has become unplayable for most people and a lot of people aren’t even bothering to log in because they know they can’t play properly. When a whole guild starts lagging out with no control over their character when just entering a supply camp for 5 seconds.. there’s a problem.
I know it will always be laggy, I’m not expecting the servers to be able to handle 3 way fights in garrison (although they used to). Just a regular fight though with maybe 100 people maximum? The servers should be able to handle that.
I really hope anet fixes this problem because the way I hear it if it doesn’t get solved a lot of players will not be purchasing the Heart of Thorns.

Well we have SFR…thye have blob at every map so it is pretty funny to fight
with so many caster and AOE calc, server got a bit more busy :P

i dont know why but since the update im having alot of gw2 crashes stuff like "can’t find projectile effect for skill ‘KIWQR.f0qXr’ and game just hangs.

Happened on our server too. In fact it was so bad we had to swap maps during our raid to see if it was just a map or if we had to call the raid altogether. I did think it was kinda funny hearing our driver call out various things … but seeing everyone on both sides standing next to each other doing absolutely nothing. Not even auto attack worked for a while there. Just players running around each other in circles for a good half minute at a time.

Slow motion is how I’d term it.
It’s not lag, it’s practically a complete stoppage in the game when zergs or World Bosses are taken on.
It’s not been fixed, as said a bagillion times, as promised by Arenanet.

Much worse since the last major patch, which they’ve been patching every single day since, several times a day during matches… it’s so fun! Not.
Does it affect spvp tournaments? If not, don’t expect them to care.
