WvW is unplayable cause of lag still
No, they should stop stripping resources away from the wvw servers for their spvp matches to run smoothly and instead invest in better servers. $200k could go towards that.
As for making more maps, that will probably never happen, as they just don’t allow enough resources to be used on the wvw game mode.
Since this week’s reset, it’s been the worst for me since the latest sPvP tourney began.
In mid pop fights,50v50 let’s say, it’s ok.
The game runs smooth,and there is no skill lag at all.
But in spots where masses of players converge,and the numbers of on screen characters rise to the hundreds,it becomes almost unplayable.
I get around 2 seconds of skill lag and the fps drop to 10,sometimes lower.
Can it get any better without altering the game engine,and with the current client?
Who knows.
All I can tell is that the current server/client GW2 uses is stretched thin in large WvW battles.

Has anyone actually bothered to run a traceroute to confirm that the problem is on Anet’s side?

Well, I contacted support couple weeks back. One of Anet’s staff contacted me through email asking me to do things like traceroute and WinMTR. The end response was it was not on their server side but the mid server between our ISP and Anet’s server. Can any techsavvy guy confirm about this? I contacted my ISP to let them know about this problem and provided them the reports I saved. But still same results I get ingame. Seems to happen only in gw2
Since one of the recent updates, maybe last week? This game has not only had lag, skill, lag, all the players on both teams completely disappear when pushing into a fight and you just look like you explode from the inside and cannot see anything attacking you, had repeated fatal errors and caused my PC to actually BLUE SCREEN. My PC ( that I built) has never blue screened ever, never has any lag at all on any other games with MORE players on the screen than what guild wars even allows and never errors at all outside of GW2. I have reinstalled GW 4 times, reset everything, cleaned the registry, lowered graphics settings and have tried to do everything on my end possible to get the game to run smoother to no avail.
I am in home built in 2007 that only has fiber run, all new lines and am just a few miles from my ISP, which is only run with fiber, as that is all my ISP even offers.
My husbands computer has crashed twice as well since the update and numerous players have been complaining of the same issues being discussed in this thread during our raids. Please fix your coding issues to make this game run more smoothly.

Something else that is odd, for some reason GW2 is blocked at some hospitals and businesses while you can play just about any other MMORPG out there. I wonder why it would be blocked, but other games are not.
