Most of the new mmo players are greedy, and due to this they are unable to remove themselves from any Event offering easy loot.

The living world events have pretty much killed wvw for most servers, and put a strain on those server with few wvw guilds while the servers with a large number of wvw guilds are having the time of their lives, roaming at taking what they want when they want it.

So, I ask you, do you think a WvW based living world event would be a good idea?

No. If you wanna do PvE kittie stuff, keep it in PvE..

WvW doesn’t need carnivals, WvW needs freaking bugfixes/dev attention/…

But please elaborate. Would it be Pve or some form of living world that required actual players from competing servers to complete some living world objective.

Either would be bad. One adds more pve to already crowded zones. The other would just reward the megablobs and stacked servers even more .

Pvers won’t like have to venture in a pvp zone for doing their pve things.

WvWers will be extremely kitten ed off getting the maps filled both of non pvp-elements and of players do not contributing to the fights in order to do those pve things.

Bad, bad, bad, bad.

First of all, a PvE living world “world” event causes many overflow instances, none of which are possible in WvW.

Secondly, since the normal population in a WvW map stays within WvW for hours, getting any amount of PvE influx will leave out a majority of PvE players from even getting to see the “event”.

Thirdly, based upon the grief from the PvE crowd on the OS JP content you’ll get more grief from the PvE crowd when they’re blocked from their achievement by a 30 man zerg. Add to this that since there are very few close matches, or even “balanced” matches, on Tuesday when these living world events start, you will have an even greater PvE percentage that’s not getting any rewards. At the time I post this, 7 of the 8 NA matches has one team getting twice the PPT as another, while 4 of the matches has a team getting over 400ppt.

And finally, if your goal is to get PvE players into WvW, one time events are not the way to get them here. The best way to get more PvE players into WvW is to increase the drop rate of loot.

i feel like those living story events lately make up for lack of content with pointless grinds and lots or loot from farming. i had scarlets playhouse done in 10-15 minutes solo with all achievements .. but had to farm kitten for like 7 hours before getting there. seems to be getting worse every update too.

i fear we will look back to this day and remember the good old wvw as it is now – Jan 2015

No PvE in WvW please.

However, with latest farms (or are they called ‘living world’?) – what I’m concerned is the endless inflation they’re adding to the market since PvErs have gold flooded pockets – feeling the pinch here.

Dead enemy players could drop ‘latest invasion on whatever mob is’ chests too. Or map events ‘take/defend this tower’ to help the PvE living world.

I do understand a better link of whole aspects of the game (living world in WvW), but not at the expense of more PvE, less PvP.

I’m generally not in favour of PvE in WvW but the discrepancy of loot between the two does make it difficult to argue against some form of solution that involves PvE.

I outlined a possible way forward of having LS content in WvW in a different thread hereabouts though I can’t see it happening. what follows is a specific example:

Aetherblade pirates attack a keep in the borderlands. If the incumbent server team stops the attack, they get PvE level loot and an achievement that counts towards the living story (or at least, those who take part do). If they fail, that keep becomes a neutral keep controlled by the LS bladers – and any ppt is taken out of the match-up. This makes it a good target for any of the 3 servers. It is also an open invitation for a 4 way fight. Winning server gets the keep and the big prize – everyone taking part gets a LS achievement + the loot that will fall.

If Anet introduce LS into WvW, it has to be relevant to WvW – not PvE.

I failed to highlight the type of wvw event, of later pve has been getting all the content, what im asking is;

You you enjoy a a WvW based and focus living world event, an event based fully on pvp, be it wvw or spvp.

I don’t know how it would work though.
