WvW lock low pop Worlds from entering "Boarderlands"
Daish thinks the lower population you have the stronger keep/tower lords should be as well
so its a bit harder for the other server to capture stuff (small ninja 5man teams cant take over stuff in the middle of the night)
Appreciate the effort find fixes for WvW. But I have to disagree.
Why? I love the Borderlands, and hate EB.
The Borderlands are more wide open, there is more open field fighting, underwater combat, and less keep flipping then EB.
I can sort of see the last one working, but the first is not a good idea. If you restrict the area low population servers can get to, you are also restricting the amount of possible points they can get. That directly means that they can get less total rewards (stuff like %extra health) than high population servers. That in turn means if you are on a low population server you will get less rewards from your team winning WvW than if you were on a high population server. Which then means even less people will want to play on low population servers and flock to the high population ones for more rewards.

They just need to start displaying WvW populations. My drop-down list should say:
Eternal (100% full)
Green border (85% full)
Red border (15% full)
Blue border (33% full)
From this I can gauge that Eternal probably has a queue, green has no queue and enough players to fight with and red and blue are probably a waste of time.
Lack of information makes the population issues worse.
A game that’s 100% WvW

Even though i do loves this idea, the issue being the inactive players just standing around. This morning we had 30 players on Crystal Desert just throwing a dance party in the middle of the main keep in our borderlands while a few Blackgate groups stopped tower after tower. Yes i do realize my server is stomping the other 2 but the same can happen to any server is my point
The 3 side battlegrounds are the only ones that matter they have the orbs there is nothing in EB but 1 really big castle that is always under attack.
Honestly I think it should be the other way around. EB should be the endgame after you’ve conquered the three borderlands. Perhaps restrict travel as follows:
Home Borderlands: Always open.
Foreign Borderlands: Must control the keep on that color’s side in at least one Borderland, or control StoneMist.
Eternal Battlegrounds: Must hold at least one Garrison.
This way servers are encouraged to defend their home borderlands first, since it will be easiest to hold the Garrison there.
Can’t shut borderlands off.
Some people prefer them more plus your servers borderlands is “your territory” so to speak.
I agree with Cakoluchiam’s idea a bit. Locking off other maps until certain criteria is met could work for lower pop servers but I can’t see it working for higher pop ones.
Imagine the uproar over queue’s if people were waiting to get onto 1 map.
Hey look, they’re all coming out to play.
they need to do someting the population on low servers is so spread out there are people joining every day most of them have no idea whats going on
there wont be enough time for them to enjoy WvW before they get rolled and give up on it before they give it a real chance

having a zerg team outside your spawn killing any new players before they experiance what boarderlands is
thats the same thing as shutting it off think about it

Don’t you understand that, if they provide that information, it will perpetuate red and blue being a waste of time? The only way to make them not a waste of time is to get more players to join. Someone has to be the first into the pool. It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy.
I’d rather that they make special trigger-able “comeback” events or siege gear. Something that would let you retake your nearest strategic points easily if you controlled nothing on the map. Maybe a boss that your team could summon who would throw the other team into disarray, maybe a time-based buff to your siege damage for all the ticks that you don’t own some percentage of the map. Maybe the ability to hire some temporary NPC mercenaries or allies.
On my world, when we’re fighting back from our overnight slump, it is borderlands which starts up first and starts its queue first in the afternoon. It is good to have a fight where we have something of a home terrain advantage to make up for the fact they usually outnumber us and are buffed from owning all of the orbs.
I’d be a bit annoyed if we got blocked from that while the opposition held our home and all of the advantage.
No, I much prefer Borderlands to EB, and I also like the option of switching between maps as the battle changes. I have to say, none of us even have all the data of how their system works, but yet some of us think we know better than the people that made this game how to address the issues. The worst part about it, is that just about every single idea I have seen on the forums are incredibly simplistic, which makes me wonder just how stupid they think the Anet devs are to have not already thought of that. Anet will fix this guys, and they will do it much better than any of us could.
So…only let the low-pop server into EB, while the high pop server(s) get to go into all the Borederlands maps as well as EB?
Somehow, I don’t think that will end well.

its a new game players are learning if your first experiance with world vs world was entering a boarderlands and leaving your spawn to be attacked by 20vs1 and have none reply to you when you ask whats going on because its empty
most players dont even know there is 4 maps its driving players away

Our alliance has divided the responsibilities for the various borderlands to different guilds. This means that where most of us go is based on need (given the situation on the map) not the population. I would rather just have access to the maps for each zone.

Yes, it’s a new game. If your first experience is being forced into only one map while the more populated server has the run of all the maps, and you suddenly discover that server owns every inch of the rest of the maps because you weren’t even allowed into them, that’ll drive ’em away faster than what you describe.
