here’s a guide for you to stop those camps
Walk down the stairs to the spot where you can drop siege, throw a trebuchet to the top of the stairs. Build the treb, repeat the process with 2 ballista and 2 arrow carts to defend the treb.
Take out the gate to the keep and just steal it when they are preoccupied elswhere (they won’t defend that gate 24/7 and you only need 5 to kill lord and cap).
a lot of people will be disappointed they are not it.
ANET, Any Ideas on how to FIX this?
They could put in multiple different exits… oh wait, they did that already.
There could be multiple zones to fight in, to spread their forces out in…. oh wait, they have that too.
I guess they could increase the skill cap of the game so the less brilliant would move on to a different game and then this wouldn’t happen.
I am all for that.

Ahh, spawn camping. A tactic as old as gaming itself. True and tried, with whole bunch of douchbaggery mixed in.
How do you build siege with no supply camps? Doesn’t it seem a bit broken if you have to map to a BL to do that?
Suggestions to beat this:
1. Leave for 15-20 minutes and come back. With nothing to shoot at, most will get bored.
2. Mesmer portal. Ask a thief to give you a nice long stealth, run behind them, drop 20 players on their siege, especially AC’s. AC’s can’t hit targets next to them.
3. Strip naked and run at them. Eventually their siege will die.
4. Not a suggestion. But tag their keep if there is a WP there.
5. Leave on the outer edges, and skip over them. Take some camps, hitting targets not near them, force them to spread out.
While a pain to deal with, it’s by no means so insurmountable that requires an immediate fix from Anet.

Make sure they are actually ACs and not a Ranger barrage…they are very similar with the exception of damage and rate of fire.

They were AC’s. I know the difference being a Ranger main.

You are invulnerable in your invulnerable area, but do you see that buff on your siege? No, so your siege is not invulnerable, in fact if you want to talk about exploits you might think about how you are getting the siege placed in the invulnerable area in the first place

No need to be rude mate. I’m showing there is something wrong, and the “breakout” is not working to help us. I’m not the idiots. I know my WvW. Now with that being said please go troll somewhere else. This is serious business here. Sorry you had a bad day, but I’m not the one to take it out on. I’m just reporting something “I think is wrong”. My own opinion. And one shared by many on my server. Now how to take this is all on you, but please keep such rude comments to yourself, your mother, and your kids.

perhaps you should have picked a less public place to report it if you did not want input from other members of the community (even the ones you don’t agree with).

You thought it was an exploit that they could damage your siege in the invulnerable area….
ANET provided you with the tools to deal with the issue, you just refuse to use them.
Here is a picture of us using the tools given to us. Also, I don’t care if people respond to this, just don’t be rude.

The solution has to be drastic. Adding silly and eventually useless methods as was suggested by the person lookin after wvw -adding more siege..yea..we love to play smart phone games..thats why we log on gw2..-are a waste of time.
As long as you have mechanics favoring numbers Gw2 wvw will always be a fail. The match up this week proves this. The mechanic suggested by the dev sounds weak and will take months of procrastinating as usual.
Changes has to be Drastic:
1.Fuse lower Tier servers. This can be done in WvW only. It will not affect PVE, if anything..it will improve unlocking the temples in Orr. This will be done eventually when its too late and people leave. Its better to do so now.
WvW is about numbers and numbers only based on the current system.
2.Remove Downed state and AOE cap. Its just silly that a small group downs a zerg double their number only to have them power rez or all of them rally when one person dies or an NPC guard etc.
If you are stupid enough to sit in a zerg in front of the tower with zero scouts on your flanks watching all inc paths then you deserve to die. 99% of the time zergs don’t have scouts. You are rewarding terrible play.
Obviously something has to be done with mesmer portal bombs as they are too OP if the downed state/AOE limit is removed.
Different match ups are useless because lower Tier servers will always get crushed and leave wvw.Zerg servers will find no one and leave WvW.
WvW in a nutshell
—> One side gains an advantage in the first few days through coverage or level of play
—> Winning sides numbers are inflated by fairweathers and tourists (who despite not being grizzled vets, still add the weight of numbers)
—> Losing sides hemorrhages players, and those that remain start to see upgrading structures as a waste
—> Winning side has no fear of upgrading structures as they will more likely have coverage to hold what they take
Bottom line, morale will unbalance any matchup once one side maintains an advantage for any meaningful length of time.

I thought a lot today about the functionality of the electronic people meters that allow one server to have such huge numbers compared the another… And I really see now why Anet is deliberately vague on how this is done. Although the higher tier/higher volume servers would probably dispute this, we all know that those “meters” are extremely broken. Even the “Outmanned” bonus is no help in situations like this – it only serves to delay log off due to repair cost.
My idea (apologies if mentioned elsewhere) is to populate WvW maps based on the lowest server with the lowest amount of player ingame plus15%. This will end the mega-zergs.
If you think a change like this will stop people from playing WvW, think again. That is ALREADY happening…

Good. Now, follow this guide.
1. stop rushing down those steps to your death.
2. grab 9 of your best friends and talk to one of Char commanders. They have cookies (supply and siege weapons) and are mean with a sword to boot. So mean in fact that if there is a siege weapon in their way, it won’t be in their way for long.
3. while you are at it, make a note of the path they take since there is not just one way out of your spawn.
If you are getting killed like that by spawn campers, its not a problem with the game. The problem is you just are not very good or familiar with WvW.

DR have been talking smack for god knows how long about our server and the fact that we were able to spawn camp them during NA times is amazing…seeing thats when they are their strongest.
By the way its your fault if you get spawn camped, there was no reason for you to keep pushing down those stairs, go the other 2 exits, Anet implemented them for a reason. Or theres 3 other borderlands where you can go to

We aren’t always outmanned, it’s just that some newcomers to wvw on Devona only hop on during a particularly rough time frame.

Or you could flank them if you came out of the other side. Stop running around mindlessly and group up on a commander and make a push as one unit together. strength in numbers.

The best part, is that was everyone our server had on trying to hold our BL, but they had zergs flipping things on other maps uncontested.

If they really want to stop this from happening the solution is quite simple: add a few pieces of working invulnerable siege at spawn. Range too short to hit any objectives, range long enough to prevent spawncamping. Problem solved.
Can’t you see Anet has better things to do then create a game so it is enjoyable for everyone, I mean we need to sell at least 10000 units of pink Quaggan hats to make sure enough gold is dumped before the next event release.. Can’t.. you.. See..?!

Aww and does the fan boy have any ‘brilliant’ ideas of how to beat zergs 3 times your number? Tactics? I’m sure they work on the downed state/AOE cap.
And what if you destroy the siege? You will still be rolled into oblivion over and over with larger zergs. But hey..I’m sure your fanboyism is right and everyone here hating the zergs is wrong about these magical mechanisms that Anet has given us to combat zergs.

Yes there is more than one way out of the spawn..we all know that..but what do you do when you get out? Get chased by zergs all day? Go siege a tower and have a zerg steam rolling you? They do run multiple zergs on some servers and can simply send one to deal with one 1/3 their number while a 2nd zerg is working on something else.
Stay in the keep or get out of it. The problem is here to stay: WvW favors numbers over skill. Till that is addressed, this will never stop.
This is nothing new. DAOC faced the same problems, as did Aion, and a few of the other WvWvW, RvRvR, and such mmo’s. There is not really that much that anyone can do about it. The biggest hamper ATM is downmode and very small maps allowing quick recovery. Myself I can easily down 4-5 players in a zerg with some good crits from my openers yet this means nothing cause the zerg will just steam roll forward a few feet and insta undown them. But it really is just one of those things.

lol ‘fan boy’ have you checked my post history? My view of ANET and WvW is well documented, go ahead and have a look.
None of what you discussed, most of which are real issues, have anything at all to do with with the topic of this post, spawn camping. I can despise ANET and everything they are doing to this game and still believe that complaining about spawn camping is kitten, because it is.
These kinds of threads, imo, go a long way to convincing ANET that they need to coddle hand holding zerglets more then the already do.
